A dead end inside Level 730's shop.

Level 730 is the 731st level of the Backrooms. It is a very large flower shop that is known for housing varied pocket dimensions within its numerous types of flowers. It was discovered on August 12th, 2004.

Description

Level 730 is an infinite outdoor flower shop that appears to be of Asian origin. The floor consists of an unknown material that has been noted to have a texture that is similar to minerals like stone and granite. Ants and small insects can be seen crawling on the ground and the flowers from time to time. Although the level appears to be outdoors, no terrain is available for exploration beyond the shop, since thin wooden and plastic walls surround the shop itself. Attempts to break down these walls have been unsuccessful so far. Residents inside Level 730 describe the temperature inside the level as "quite chilly, although not cold enough to the point where you feel like you're about to freeze to death." No stars or celestial objects can be seen in the sky.

The lettering visible on objects such as signs, price tags, and advertisements within the level appears to be traditional Japanese kanji, although on numerous occasions it has been observed to have grammatical errors and contain misleading titles. Picking out a flower that is for sale will lead to one experiencing a spectrum of outcomes, from simply no-clipping into the ground below to being sucked into the flower itself before promptly being sent into the flower's corresponding area. Although a unique dimension exists for every type of a flower in the shop, it is not a safe choice to choose flowers that are not described below, as they might direct to dangerous and unsafe sections.

Level 730's layout, both the shop and its dimensions, has been noted as extremely difficult to comprehend and map out, as it seems to be constantly changing itself every 5-10 hours. Many have also described entire pathways being obstructed by a comically large amount of flowers, or the level seemingly spinning at a rapid pace, although the latter is speculated to be a hallucination.

Higaonna Residence

This particular zone of Level 730, colloquially referred to as the Higaonna Residence (named after the entity that can be seen throughout it), consists of an infinite cluster of rooms similar in appearance to a 20th-century furnished household. It can be accessed by picking out a sunflower inside the shop. Although it is finite, it has several strange Non-Euclidian features, such as a room seemingly disappearing entirely, or a room quickly expanding or decreasing in size. It contains the usual rooms one would expect when picturing a typical house, including a bedroom, a kitchen, a lounge, and restroom. On rare occasions, it can contain rooms such as a home theater, a greenhouse, or a ballroom. When one enters a room that can show where the outside would normally be (such as a balcony or a garden) a completely pitch-black void devoid of features can be seen where the outdoors would normally be. Diving into the void is highly discouraged. It has been noted that most pieces of furniture appear to be covered in ash and dust. The faint sound of a clock ticking can be heard throughout the residence.

The only picture of Higaonna. Origin unknown.

It is quite easy to leave the Higaonna Residence, as simply picking out a flower from anything that can feasibly contain one (such as a flower pot or a garden) will simply lead you to the flowers corresponding dimension, as it would in the shop.

Higaonna

Higaonna is the sole entity that inhabits the Higaonna Residence. A description of the entity is hard to pinpoint, as the appearance varies from person to person, although most describe it as a pitch-black, featureless humanoid that is 5 to 7 feet tall.

Higaonna does not appear to be hostile, as it disappears when one attempts to approach it or no longer has direct eye contact with it. The entity can be seen when one enters a room or stays in one for a long time. Many describe feeling guilt, stress, and fear when in the line of sight of Higaonna.

Many theorize that seeing Higaonna is attached to one's fate and luck, as numerous individuals have reported contracting several illnesses or being attacked by other Entities after encountering Higaonna.

"It's not there to kill, it's not there to protect, it's only there just to stand, watch, and leave. And god, if that doesn't make it so much more unnerving."

The Bedroom

The following area of Level 730 can be accessed by picking out a rosemary inside the flower shop. While seemingly safe and devoid of any Entities, it is inadvisable to enter due to the mental effects once one enters and the fact that no exit has currently been discovered. It consists of a simple bed with white bedsheets and a couple of pillows, a floral wallpaper, a nightstand containing, a mirror and a chair facing the corner of the room. A door can be seen, although it is locked with no way of opening it.

In the first 10 minutes that one enters, they will feel emotions such as sadness, anguish and loneliness. They will also have a constant urge to lay down on the bed and cry into the covers. After the 10 minutes have passed, the sadness will be replaced with a feeling of boredom and tiredness, with an urge to go to sleep. If one goes to sleep, they will seemingly never wake up and completely disappear. Those who go to sleep inside The Bedroom are considered lost with no chance of recovery.

"You'd be surprised at the amount of people who have been reported missing after picking out a seemingly innocent rosemary. From leaders of tiny bases with people in the single-digits to major persons inside of the largest groups in the Backrooms. Maybe they knew. Maybe they didn't. It's almost like they're drawn to it."

Vermillion District

A small building inside the Vermillion District.

The following area of Level 730 can be accessed by picking out a hydrangea inside the flower shop. It is an endless grass field with several concrete buildings scattered across the plains. The buildings are unable to be accessed, as the doors which lead to the interior of the buildings are locked. Those who have previously been here have described the doors and the windows on the buildings as "fake, like someone just put a sticker onto it.". A random flower can occasionally be seen growing in the grass, again, picking out this flower will result in you being sent to the flower's corresponding dimension.

Several intrusive thoughts will enter the mind not long after one enters, usually attributing themselves to a horrible thing they didn't do, the most common of which being leaving someone behind to die, killing someone, lying to someone; resulting in their death and horribly wronging someone. Afterwards, the mind will feel like they need to commit a deed which will even out their wrongdoings, usually being as horrible (if not more) as the thoughts previously mentioned. These spirals of thought usually result in the one being affected doing the act, afterwards being even more unhappy with themselves and in most cases taking their own life, or suffering from cardiac arrest due to the large amount of emotions flowing through their body.

"God… the amount of stories I've heard about 'committing an irredeemable act of sin' or 'begging for forgiveness.' We used to send them for appointments and checks inside Level 109, until we found out why so many people from The Doctors were being killed. We started sending them to locked isolation wards afterwards, seeing them as a lost cause. Cruel, I know, but I'm not the one who decided on that idea."

Bases, Outposts and Communities

The Gardeners

  • A moderately sized group, having 8 gardeners and a fluctuating amount of Volunteers1
  • Gardeners are situated in the flower shop, while Volunteers explore the pocket dimensions inside the anomalous flowers
  • They are open for trade, although they ignore you if you don't have any gardening-related items
  • Completely ignore anyone not looking to join or trade
  • The gardeners are constantly trying to create and breed new flowers through small cracks of dirt found in the floor. They send over the Volunteers to see if there's a feasible exit inside the flower's dimension

Entrances And Exits

Entrances

  • Entering small flower shops in Level 138 can sometimes seamlessly transport you into Level 730. Many people inside Level 730 think that they are still inside Level 138.
  • No-clipping into Level 165's flowers leads you into Level 730 in most cases.
  • A certain hole with a high amount of flowers and plants around it in Level 240 will send you here. This hole is blocked off.

Exits

  • It has recently been discovered by The Gardeners that touching a rare Delphinium flower will always lead to Level 83. This flower cannot be found for sale and can only be obtained through artificial means. The Gardeners have sprinkled several seeds of this flower throughout small cracks of dirt so more people can leave the level more easily.

"Strange that the only way to leave a level, which offers numerous methods of transportation to other places, is through a method crafted by human hands so desperate to escape this hellhole. It's almost like it's trying to put you in a trap. And if it did, it certainly prospered countless times."
