Level 219 also referred to as "The Fallout" is a level that appears to be a large abandoned nuclear shelter. Additionally, Level 219's exterior has ionizing radiation which can be deadly.

Description

Level 219 is a level that, upon entering, seems to be a suburban home assembled upon a large mountain surrounded by 3 broadcasting towers. Moreover, expeditions have proven the existence of the bunker segment underneath the home. Level 219's bunker is estimated to be 194km2 in size and the exterior has a continuous wall, lining the outskirts of the level—equipped with barbed wire on its top as an apparent deterrent to any overly curious wanderers. The aforementioned towers are seemingly there for the purpose of telecommunications.

There is no apparent way of accessing the home as of now. This is due to the strong tungsten that lines all apparent entrances to the building, with the current surface breaching technology The M.E.G has it is not possible to attain entrance. However, there is a path that leads to the back where the aforementioned towers can be scaled and a small hole in the wall is noticeable which advances down to an expansive underground section. Additionally this level's exterior contains mild RF and alpha radiation therefore it is audacious to stay there for too long, due to the ionizing radiation. This radiation is nearly entirely obstructed while inside the bunker, though, it is still a deadly threat if no medication is taken. Tests that have been done on wanderers who encountered this level have proven that, when inside the bunker radiation is minimized to only 400 milliSieverts per 5 hours1.

Level 219's subterranean segment is an expansive complex of rooms and halls, some are small with the walls forming clean designs and others are more unnaturally shaped, either lacking definitive form, or being colossal in size. Hallways commonly contain hanging and broken fluorescent lights, with indirect rooms on either side of the concourses.

Within Level 219 a single room with working power has been found although it has no apparent power source as all observed wires and power sources within this level are destroyed or severed. This room also exhibits properties that block all kinds of deadly radiation, it is unknown how the room opposes these waves and how its lights function. These properties are not understood as of now and it is unknown why or how they occur. Moreover, this room is used by many wanderers as a safehouse due to the outpost that has been established here.

The room used as an outpost.

Level 219's brightness differs between the above and below sections with the above fragment appearing as having a mid-summer daytime with temperatures of 20°C-25°C and the underground section displays extreme darkness comparable to Level 6 and temperatures of 7°C-13°C, exploring the underground without a personal light source is ill-advised due to the abundance of cavities within the concrete floor of Level 219.

Weirdly, plastic pipes and broken ventilation shafts can be seen no-clipped through the ceiling of this level and wheeled carts can occasionally be found in hallways sometimes with Almond Water, Liquid Silence or Firesalt atop its surface. To add to this various supply caches can be found within Level 219 containing extremely useful items including firearms, ammunition and armour systems of Soviet origin, Royal Rations, Almond Water, Nplate radiation medication, steel-toed hiking/military grade boots, and on rare occasions Level Keys and an unknown kind of radiation medication that seems to remove all effects of ionizing radiation within the span of 3-7 days making this level harshly contested by different factions, these caches seem to restock every 1-2 weeks.

Moreover some rooms of this level have an unidentified concrete-like material that is not much of a threat to humans but if a wanderer is within a 2-meter proximity for a prolonged period, adverse effects can take place. Effects can include, brain damage, liver/kidney failure, severe nausea, headaches, destruction of nerve cells, more severe effects occur the longer a wanderer is within proximity and this substance also has a possibility of wielding undocumented effects. This material is identified by small bright lights emanating in small spots of walls or floors.

Throughout the interior of Level 219 unnatural anomalies can be found including, lights and other objects clipping through ceilings, walls, and floors, and the aforementioned material. Wanderers have also reported hearing geiger counters clicking sounds echoing throughout hallways and rooms, though when they arrive at the perceived location of the sound its source seems to move or disappear. The anomalies mentioned are found in many other levels2, including this one and are misunderstood, such anomalies are currently being heavily researched by The M.E.G.

Bases, Outposts and Communities

Level 219 access outpost

This outpost is easily found upon entering 219 and is located in the bright room, not far from the entrance to the underground. This outpost, constructed by The M.E.G owes to the abundance of resources on this level but hardly to the formidable habitability of Level 219. Radiation treatment medication such as Nplate is given to wanderers who enter, though, in moderation. This outpost has 1-2 armed guards at all times.

Stalkers

This group inhabits this level for the same reason as The M.E.G, for supplies. Stalkers acquire the resources of this level for their own benefit and are not open to distribute or trade with wanderers. Anarchy floods this group as The Stalkers are heavily armed and armoured with usually 1 armed guard around their few outposts within this level, they will not actively attack wanderers although if the wanderer acts aggressively towards them, they will retaliate. Some members of this group do attack wanderers illogically, seemingly doing it just to do it.

The Red Pact

The Red Pact are a small but strong communist community of around 10-20 people within Level 219, this compact faction resides in this level seemingly to build a community that is able to, sustain itself, have enough strength to fight other factions and to live communally splitting their earnings and findings equally between each other. Unlike the Stalkers they don't raid this level's supply caches and meg outposts for their own benefit but, for the benefit of everyone in the pact. Moreover this group is passive-aggressive towards wanderers and treat an attack on one as an attack on all.

Eyes of Chaos

Eyes of Chaos is a large faction with many different mercenary groups across this level, numbers are unknown but estimated to be within the high tens and low hundreds. Eyes of Chaos' 5 mercenary detachments consist of 10 heavily armed soldiers which search this level for its rich caches, the intent of this group is currently unknown and they are hostile to any wanderer or auxiliary factions with a shoot-on-sight policy. These PMCs can be distinguished by their large numbers when roaming Level 219 and their insignia mounted upon their knee pads and shoulders.

Entrances And Exits

Entrances

  • No-clipping through a wooden board of Level 19.
  • Entering any house on Level 9 has a small chance to bring a wanderer here.

Exits

  • No-clipping through the aforementioned concrete-like material will bring the wanderer to Level 36
  • Touching a shattered piece of ceiling has a chance to take the wanderer to Level 54

This place, I think, is the worst one of these infinite bloody fever dreams I've been to. First those endless yellow walls and buzzing lights and now, I'm inside of these tunnels that seem to just… keep going. I can say with no doubt in my mind without my torch I'd be fucked. It's too dark to see 'cause there's no lights… well… there is, they just don't work. I haven't heard any of those things that were in the other places so I guess that's lucky. It was much nicer topside, like the summer albeit slightly eerie as all I could hear was wind and buzzing from… those towers I think. I'll make another audio log later on.

These tunnels just keep getting worse and worse, I've been trying to find my way back to the surface but, I just cant seem to find it. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the stupid bloody clicking I've been hearing as well; you know geiger counters? think the sound of that in the distance but every time you get to the room its coming from it stops or it moves to another place, it sucks.

I think I'm losing it down here. Keep hearing or thinking I'm hearing footsteps in other corridors, I'm also beginning to feel a little nauseous and my hands look strangely sunburnt and there's no sunlight here so that's great, don't know why or how but that's how this place works I guess.

Officially the worst area ever, now I'm being shot at by about 9 maybe 10 guys, got some weird symbols on 'em. I need help, please I don't… I don't wanna die here…
over the sound of distant gunshots footsteps and people shouting can be heard
M.E.G soldier: Hey we heard gunshots, are you alright? Did you get shot anywhere?
Uh… no, no I'm fine just quite shaken up but please I need help.
M.E.G soldier We can help you, along with my detachment I brought some medical personnel they're just around the corner, where we came from. They'll take you back to the outpost and get you re-oriented alright?
    Yeah, thank you.

INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY (21/6/2023):

On June 21, 2023, at 11:32 AM, a wanderer was caught in the gunfire of a faction of Level 219 named "Eyes of Chaos" this wanderer managed to evade the shots and was rescued by "219 Guard Detachment Alpha".
Below are the audio transcriptions of the interviews conducted by M.E.G. researcher Dr. Anatoli Sidorov with a wanderer who encountered a mercenary group from "Eyes of Chaos". The wanderer goes by the name of "Archie":

Interviewer: Dr. Anatoli Sidorov
Interviewee: Archie

BEGIN LOG

Anatoli Sidorov: Hello, Archie. I'm glad you agreed to this interview as our information on this group is lacking.
Archie: No worries, I'm happy to give you some info. This might be short as I'm not sure I remember too much from the encounter.
Anatoli Sidorov: That's okay, any information is very helpful to us.
Archie: If I remember correctly it was about 11:30 AM and I was going through those damned halls when I heard footsteps and light chatter, but I'd been there so long I thought I was going insane.
Anatoli Sidorov: Okay, so did you come across anything… out of place? helpful even?
Archie: Yeah, actually, I found a room with a bunch of… wooden crates? medication and some of those bottles labeled "Almond water".
Anatoli Sidorov: Ah, you're somewhat of a lucky man, this level contains supply caches which are heavily contested by the different factions.
Archie: Oh I see, anyway as I entered the room the footsteps got louder but they were now coupled by radio chatter.
Archie: As I came outta the room there was people… speaking to each other and I was relieved to finally see someone after so long.
Anatoli Sidorov: What happened next?
Archie: Sounds of guns being chambered, then a storm of gunfire.
Anatoli Sidorov: Okay, I see, go on.
Archie: Well, as I was makin' a break for my life I looked over my shoulder and caught a glimpse of… maybe an insignia? it was hard to tell and still is.
Archie: From what little I saw, it was an eye with a rifle or two in the background.
Archie: Honestly surprised I didn't get shot… or I did.
Anatoli Sidorov: Well, Archie, from what medical staff told me you had been. And you passed out when you arrived at the base. But this information you have given us is vital, have you any more?
Archie: Yeah, a small thing but I saw there was probably around 9… maybe 10 of them I'm not sure about exact numbers but there was a lot of them.
Anatoli Sidorov: Of course, it seems this group has large teams.
Alex: I managed to get to the end of the hallway and got to a turn and took cover, that's when your guys came along and helped me.
Anatoli Sidorov: Of course, they're happy to, is that all?
Archie:Yep, 'bout as much as I remember.
Anatoli Sidorov: Alright, thank you for the provided information, Archie that will go a long way and will conclude this interview.
