Level 143's dark railway.
Level 143 is the 144th level of the Backrooms.
Description:
Level 143 is an infinite concrete train tunnel. It has completely dysfunctional lighting fixtures, and the only light source comes from light sources that belong to the wanderer, or the inside of the train cars. The darkness could be comparable to Level 6 and Level 108 in a multitude of ways.
Level 143 features concrete walls and iron rails. The floor consists of gravel. Small sidelines run apart from the rails. Using a flashlight or any other light source for this level is highly recommended.
Level 143 should not be treated as a "safe" level, due to the darkness, entities, and other hazards that may come your way. Rarely, underground trains may speed through quickly. Run to the edges or jump into the train car if you can. The train won’t stop for anyone. It can and WILL lead to death.
If someone jumps into a fast-moving train car, they will find themselves in an endless underground train car. This happens even though the outside shows the train has a fixed length. This train has no furniture. It only features painted wallpaper, bright fluorescent lights like Level 0's, windows, and small baggage compartments near the ceiling. If they go to the front of the train car, they will see nothing but an empty kitchen chair, despite looking at the front from the outside looking completely different.
Locked doors commonly appear on the walls, being unbreakable and impossible to unlock. One wanderer reported seeing an unlocked door on the walls, and opening it greeted them with the sight of a wall, made out of the same concrete as the walls near it. This report is unconfirmed, because of the lack of photographic evidence.
Several rotten, decrepit and decaying corpses have been spotted on the floor. An unknown scientific research center has taken one of the bodies for further research, and it resulted in the identity of M.E.G Operative K. ██████. All of the bodies are from real people and have not been around since the level's supposed conception, presumably being the remains of people who starved, gone insane or died from the train car impact.
Bases, Outposts and Communities:
"B.N.T.G" Inhabited Train Car
- Very small, having only 4 members
- A quite old outpost, being stuck in permanent limbo of setting up the outpost for 12 years (approximated)
- Every member has a B.N.T.G signature uniform, despite every member saying that they split off and are a separate outpost
- Open for trade at all occasions, however does not accept any permanent members
Entities:
Basic Entities:
Entities such as Smilers and Wretches have been found a dozen of times in this level, however they have trouble finding prey and often die from accidental means such as the train car impact. They are easy to exterminate and sneak up on, due to their poor sense of direction in this level.
Living Walls:
Living Walls are entities that only appear in Level 143 and nowhere else. Living Walls can be differentiated from regular walls from the fact that they have nerves, eyes, veins, mouths and fingernails on them. These body parts often erratically move, as if something is trapped inside the walls. These entities are entirely passive. If you try to harm them, such as by pulling an exposed nerve, you will be instantly transported to Level 666. It is theorized that Living Walls are the remains of wanderers that have pulled a failed no-clip multiple times in the same wall.
Entrances And Exits:
Entrances:
- No-clipping in any level in the Backrooms can lead wanderers here. However, in order to no-clip on purpose into this level, one must cover one of their ears, close their eyes and walk backwards to any wall. This entrance has a 15% success rate. (approximated) This method of entry can only be tried once, and won't work when someone tries it again.
Exits:
- The primary method of exiting Level 143 is to accidentally trip face-first on the rails. Doing this will no-clip the wanderer to Level 2. Attempting to do this on purpose will always fail. Intentional no-clips in this level are inadvisable, and may end up in the wanderer becoming a Living Wall, if not careful enough.
- Intentionally harming a Living Wall will always transport wanderers to Level 666.
