Level 207 is the 208th level of the Backrooms.

Description:

Level 207 is a small, fancy furnished 20th century bank made out of marble plated with gold and silver. It contains three enclosed, protected wooden reception desks, a dark brown carpet, and several brown couches and pieces of furniture scattered across the room. Behind the reception desk, a metal, armored, and locked door to a vault stands visible. The bank's walls also feature several framed paintings, which appear to depict mountain formations, fruit, and notable people. A single candlelit chandelier can also be observed in the center of the ceiling. It is unknown what time of day it is since there are no windows inside the level. Only one person can be inside Level 207 at a time.

Events:

Each time one enters Level 207, the exact same sequence of events unfolds with no changes. In the first 20 seconds after one enters the level, two to six Facelings wearing formal clothing can be seen making transactions and exchanges with three other Facelings standing behind the reception desks. The facelings appear to have the Level 11 effect, being completely docile with no intent to harm anyone without being provoked. Attempting to make any form of contact with these Facelings will result in them responding with "I'm busy." or "Sorry, this transaction is very important."

Twenty seconds after entry, three other Facelings open the door, tie both of the door handles together with a ziptie, and yell at everyone to drop to the ground with their hands up or else they will shoot. Every Faceling in the room swiftly drops to the ground. The appearance and voice of these Facelings can vary, although it is most common for them to be wearing a suit and tie, a black balaclava, and holding an unidentified rifle that bears many resemblances to an AK-47 found in the real world, and they appear to be of Caucasian descent. Failing to get down or otherwise follow the orders of the robbers will either result in you getting put down with force (by kicking, punching, or pushing you to the floor) or being fired upon. Therefore, it is strongly advised to comply with the robbers' instructions.

After everyone gets down to the floor, one of the armed Facelings can be observed walking to the reception desk and holding one of the Facelings behind it at gunpoint, telling them to unlock the vault door. The Faceling behind the reception desk immediately agrees to open the door, before the armed Faceling unexpectedly shoots the bank teller in the forehead, immediately killing them. One of the other robbers kicks down a locked door that leads behind the reception desk; afterwards all of the robbers can be seen running to the now-open vault door. A minute later, sirens can be heard behind the main entrance.

After the robbers are seen running into the vault, all action comes to an immediate halt, and no further events seem to occur. The Facelings are never seen coming back from the vault, and the police are never observed going inside the building. It is now safe to get up from the floor and explore the level further, although you cannot go past the reception desks or break the ziptie that locks the main door. Attempting to notify the Facelings that are being held hostage that no further events will take place and that it is safe to stand up will yield no results, as the Facelings will never acknowledge the message and will endlessly lie down on the floor.

Although no further events can be observed inside Level 207, many newspapers inside Level 11 and Level 77 explain the situation in detail, though many details, such as names, dates, and locations, are unintelligible.

TRAGEDY STRIKES AT ███████ CREDIT UNION

On the ████ of ███████, three masked men robbed the ██████ national bank. The robbers wore black suits, balaclavas, and held an ███████ rifle. The armed assailants held the citizens currently visiting the bank hostage while they threatened the bank tellers at gunpoint.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the robbers held a clerk under duress, forcing him to open the vault door. The teller quickly complied before the robber unexpectedly shot the teller in the head, immediately killing him. The robbers then ran into the vault, taking an undisclosed sum of money. While one of the perpetrators was arrested at the scene by police, two of the robbers fled the scene and evaded law enforcement. We are working very hard to identify the suspects and bring justice to the victims' families.

Entrances And Exits:

Entrances:

Certain banks inside Level 11, and various other levels which happen to be city-based, lead to this level. If someone is inside the level, the door to the bank will remain locked until the person dies or leaves the level. Any bank that has been recorded to lead to this level has a sign in front of it that describes the events that are about to happen if one goes through the door. The signs were set up by the M.E.G.

Exits:

Leaving through the front door before the armed Facelings arrive (or otherwise no-clipping through it after it has been locked) will send you back to the level you were in previously.
