Level 498-"The 4th Glitch of Reality"
rating: 0+x

Description

Level 498 manifests itself as a maze with trees as walls from the Frontrooms at night. However, as the wanderer travels deeper into the level, the level will become more and more distorted and corrupt. This level is divided into 4 different layers. Each of the layers has its own safety, security, and stability. Each maze is around 50 km long.

Layer 1—What is this place

Included page "component:level-class" does not exist (create it now)

Layer 1 is the most stable layer in Level 498; thus, Layer 1 is the safest layer. The Layer is in a perpetual state of night. The Maze has only 1 exit, which leads to the 2nd layer. At the end of the maze, the wanderer will be met by a tree with a quarter of it missing; if the wanderer walks into the tree, he will be in layer 2.

Entrances

Entering this level can be done in 2 ways, which lead to the first layer of Level 498.
On Level 557, finding a "glitched out" tree and walking into it leads here.
The same method can be used to get here from Level 415.

Layer 2—The Dangerous layer

Included page "component:level-class" does not exist (create it now)

Layer 2 is considered class 3 due to some dangerous entities residing in it. This layer is completely black and white, and sounds are 50% quieter. This makes the entities harder to see and hear. The layer still resembles a maze, and at the end of the maze is a tree, which seems to be "glitched out" and vibrating. The trees on this layer have an unnatural shape, and some grow to incredible heights. In this layer all entities can't be detected from afar. The entities in layer 2 are Smilers, Clumps, Skin-Stealers, and Hounds. However, these creatures rarely show up.

Layer 3—What is even happening

Included page "component:level-class" does not exist (create it now)

On the 3rd layer, color and time do not exist. On this part of the level any sound will have an echo and be reversed. This layer is the only way to escape this level before being stuck on this level. The person will start to decompose after spending 6 hours on this layer. It is recommended to reach the exit of this maze as fast as possible. Escaping this level can be quite difficult since the exit is well hidden. The few people who have escaped this level have said the exit can be found by no-clipping into a tree that looks out of place. Occasionally tornadoes can be encountered; these natural disasters are stuck in place and can't move. However, when the wanderer gets near one, they will be met with immediate death; this cause of death is currently unknown.

Exits

No-clipping into the out-of-place tree leads to either Level 48 or Level 414; this can only be done in the 3rd layer

Layer 4—NO ESCAPE

Included page "component:level-class" does not exist (create it now)

If the wanderer continues and reaches the end of the maze, they will be inside a small area. This area does not have any of the properties of the previous ones; it looks "real." This area consists of a small lake and a barrier blocking any escape attempts. Near the lake an old man can be seen fishing; once approached, he will ask the wanderers if they want to fish with him, since it is the only thing to do here. We have very little information on this layer.
