Level 620: What a waste
Begin Log: 02/20/20121
JIRO: Hey. We haven't talked in a while, but I felt like asking you something, even if it might seem a little bit selfish.
[DATA DELETED]
JIRO: You don't even *look* the same anymore. I feel strange around you. Maybe I'm still just being selfish.
[DATA DELETED]
JIRO: It only makes sense going to the next level, right?
[DATA DELETED]
JIRO: But I-
[DATA DELETED]
[DATA DELETED]
JIRO: I didn't mean that. Stop putting words in *my* mouth. I have always been a good person to you. Am I not enough?
JIRO: You're being irrational! What have *I* ever done to you except keep the whole damn thing running!
[DATA DELETED]
JIRO: HEY! Hey! You *know* what that's going to DO to me!
[DATA DELETED]
The earth swallows Jiro whole. End log.
LEVEL
620
SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY
CLASS 1
Exit: 2/5
Somewhat Difficult to Exit
Environment: 2/5
Some Environmental Risk
Entities: 0/5
No Hostile Entities
Description
Level 620 is a deserted landscape. This level's novelty is made up by its recent discovery, which we did not know about despite it previously being a hub for a small, forgotten, grassroots, mercenary-like company.2
The level is a sprawling road, with its surroundings made up of featureless grey concrete monoliths, resembling tall buildings along a wide street. These buildings are made of solid matter that cannot be extracted or moved, though they are not indestructible, as they seem to possess no solid foundation aside from their weight in order to anchor them into the ground. Tall lightposts are positioned sparsely along the road, keeping small creatures away by providing no shelter or space to hide in while in the light.
Straying off the road reveals short green grass that evenly coats the ground, only interrupted by said buildings. Although there is no immediate risk to wandering off the path, it provides a high risk of getting lost from its noticeable lack of landmarks or structures to signify how far away you are from any exits.
Interviewing
Begin Log: 01/25/2014
Interviewer: Researcher Tahtdev R. Esedeh
Interviewee: Interviewee asked their name to be excluded from the report.
Interviewee was found investigating a nearby lightpost near the exit and was asked about the nature of the level.
INTERVIEWEE: It wasn't always like this, I suppose. I mean, I knew the guy, but I didn't *know* J all that well. Quite the opposite of that strong and silent type, he liked to put himself in front of whatever it was that happened, trying to somehow use the 'power of friendship' to change us delinquent types into some sort of cozy commune or something. He'd love to propose some dumb [DATA DELETED]-the balance. Pretty much everyone made fun of him for that, deservedly enough, and he'd start to talk about how much of a martyr he was and how little people understood him afterwards.
INTERVIEWER: That doesn't even answer my question.
INTERVIEWEE: Guess not, but I just wanted to talk about it to someone.
INTERVIEWER: Well, again, this level was discovered a few weeks ago. Do you know why we only discovered it *now*?
INTERVIEWEE: I didn't mean to give you folks more work. Sorry if that was the case. It only got like this after he tried to somehow get [DATA DELETED]-fit in. Needless to say, J didn't take that lightly. It all got like this after that. Everything dead and ominously cold. Our shelters turned into these grey blocks. *Gestures to the side* It started happening after he vanished, and I thought I had everything under control, but that was a farce. No one could sleep peacefully here, not without any shelters. We had nowhere to go again. What a waste.
End log.
