Description

Sorv refers to a brand of various chocolate products found throughout the Backrooms. The brand can be found more commonly in level 11, 480, and on 9's fridges. It also very rarely comes in Neapolitan ice cream, having zero anomalous affects.

It resembles standard chocolate like those found in the Frontrooms and when consumed in room temperature conditions, tastes like regular chocolate. Its anomalous properties only appear when modifying the chocolate, such as freezing or melting it.

A Slice of Sorv's chocolate cake, note that only the chocolate of this cake showed anomalous effects.

Properties

When Sorv chocolate products are liquidated5 and consumed, the consumer will begin to move in slow motion. Objects held by the user will also remain in slow motion until leaving the touch of the user (though it will retain what momentum it has). Objects such as smartphones also have slower input and incorrect clock times.

When melted, the liquid will fully freeze any object it touches6. All features of the object, including anomalous ones, will be impaired or even stop working all together. The object will then become about 2x lighter then its original weight.7 After around 30 seconds the liquid chocolate will evaporate, turning into a chocolate smoke, this has no anomalous effects other then being incredibly foggy and having an overwhelming smell of chocolate. After the smoke evaporates, the object will then proceed to work as normal.

If used on a entity, the chocolate will harden and become much heavier8. This effect doesn't disappear unless the entity dies, or disconnects from the chocolate, in which the chocolate will evaporate. When using the packaging of Sorv's chocolate it will display none of the affects mentioned above9 which is the only known way to form the chocolate.

Objects formed by this melted chocolate and then frozen will show the same properties as the object recreated. An example is Object 14, which retains its properties when recreated with chocolate. The quality of these recreations decides how well it functions, and objects recreated poorly might not function or be outright dangerous. There is also a limit to its use and it doesn't function on objects of high complexity such as Worn sacks, or computers (even if recreated perfectly).

An interesting note of the chocolate liquid is when mixed with other liquids, certain properties will occur from objects recreated. An example is Almond water, in which the recreated object will become softer and have a smell of almonds according to the amount of Almond water added. Another example is Liquid Silence. Where as expected objects produced by this mix will be quieter proportional to the amount of silence. A full log of interactions can also be found in the object 54's supplementary document.

While the melting point of the chocolate originally is 50c/122f, after being refrozen its new melting point is around 20c/68f. After melting again, it will not be able to be frozen again. Trying to freeze this remelted chocolate to around -20c/-4f will cause it to explode. This explosion has a range of about 2m and doesn't show any of its anomalous properties other then becoming toxic to consume.

Uses

Its multiple abilities make it incredibly useful in many situations. While in its liquidated form and consumed, it can be used to survive great falls or to cross normally unreachable gaps. If used on a heavy object it can make it easily liftable, though the 30 second timer makes it more useful for stealing objects instead of moving them. Another use of the liquid is to remove any effects of a object which can save yourself from many dangerous scenarios. Using the liquid chocolate on a entity can make an easy attack or getaway. The smoke after the liquid is also useful to mask your smell and sight to other entities.

While all of these are viable, the chocolate liquid is slow moving so you'll need a way to shoot it out quickly, such as a squirt gun where its properties don't manifest inside the container.

The frozen form is incredibly useful but rather hard to use as you'll need to use the wrapping to prevent its effects from manifesting. If you manage to make something powerful out of it though, make sure to keep it cool to prevent melting. The extra effects of other liquids mixed with Sorv are also incredibly useful in the right scenarios. The remelted chocolate from Sorv chocolate isn't completely useless too and is useful for certain scenarios such as a flashbang or slowing somebody down.
