Description
A picture of Object 33.
Object 33 or Light Painters are objects that resemble traffic lights in the Frontrooms; however, instances of Object 33 are not mounted on poles like their counterpart. Usually they have a handle on the top, side, or back that can vary in length and effectiveness(i.e., a handle can be 3 centimeters long and thus impossible to use as an auxiliary tool when carrying the object). They also vary in size, ranging from half a meter to three meters long. A round red button can be found on the bottom of all instances of Object 33. In rare cases a blue button is found instead of a red one. Beware of the blue-buttoned occurrences, as they may cause both mental and physical harm upon the push of the button.
Function & Use
When turned on, Object 33 will emit rays of light(red, yellow, and green, similar to traffic lights). These beams of light will stay in the air, much like how one would paint a surface except that here the paint is in the form of light rays, hence the name given. Light emitted from the object mark the trail the face of the object has traveled, but start to disappear once the trail stretches over 10 meters. Given this property, Object 33 can be useful when exploring levels with especially dark areas, with exceptions to levels such as Level 6. If a Light Painter is turned on inside these levels, it would still be working, but the user would not be able to see the emitted light due to the level's effect.
Instances of Object 33 with a blue button, as mentioned above, would not emit a light when turned on. It is still unknown what exactly it does do; however, anyone who had tried this so far are either found dead or turned completely insane, no longer able to communicate with others. In cases where the victim is killed, no marks of violence or otherwise any indication of death-inducing events were found on the corpse. All victims seem to bear an expression of anguish.
Rarity
Object 33 can appear in any place that either has a light source or resembles a city(for instance, Level 11). It is not rare, but not every person can encounter one. Like no-clipping and entity encounters, finding this object is a matter of chance and chance only1.
Discovery
Object 33 was first discovered by a solo wanderer formerly residing in Level 11. He claims to have found it in a tuft of grass just off one of the roads. The first instance of a blue-buttoned Light Painter was found by user "@mightyJohnK", who recorded a video of himself attempting to make use of the object. The video showed him pressing the button, then the feed turned into static. He was later found dead on another level2. Other encounters with blue-buttoned Light Painters given account of by users were often cut off with the user never appearing again. Because of this, it is advised to stay away from these types of Object 33.
