Entity no. -935
created by @Null_112

Entity discovery number-(minus)935, entity "Shadow Roles". these entities exist in the deeper levels of the backrooms. Especially Level_9223372036854775807, as for how dangerous they are. They are hardly hostile, although they do tamper with your psychology a bit. there are multiple descriptions as to what their actual form looks like. I will put a list of them

  • wanderer1 : "it had white glowing eyes, shadowy body."
  • wanderer2 : "its gas-like form shivers my timbers every time I dream of it"
  • wanderer3 : "I encountered one that had red eyes instead of white ,I knew it was aggressive
  • wanderer4 : "it changed its form as soon as i blinked. as if its a different thing every time I look away"

Behaviours:

if you encounter one of them you don't actually have to do anything. they will sometimes help you find an exit, or the entrance to the next level. A rumor of why they help wanderers is they are actually the souls of other wanderers who has stayed too long inside the backrooms but their corpse still no-clipped. And the souls of them are trapped in the backrooms forever. Another ability they have is to easily travel through levels, this is confirmed when a particular Shadow Roles that was tagged on a colony only to disappear and reappear in a different colony.

They are also theorised to have killed some other species of entities in the backrooms, although this isn't proven yet. There are evidence that this is true for example: traces of some type of blood that led to a dead entity, and a Shadow Role would sometimes be near the scene. There has been test's involving the transfer of Shadow Role's to earth. Although these test's always result in Shadow Roles to disappear. There has been a developed technology that is said to protect Shadow Roles to not disappear when in contact to earth

Species and Biology:

After the discovery that Shadow Roles have different species, we began to suspect that some of them are not as neutral as we thought. As you expected, the species are differentiated by the color of their "eyes". The species with the white eyes are called "Neutrum" species, the ones that are green are called "Tutum" species, the ones with red eyes are called "Hostilis" species. As for how we know it is determined by the eyes, we began attempting to transform a hostile Shadow Role to a neutral Shadow Role. The result is it worked. the eyes turned white.

the table of content as to how many Shadow Roles personality type is:

Hostilis 12 found in level 704-9103
Neutrum 10 found in level 36-5957
Tutum 6 found in level 506-9481

after we did some calculations as to the probability of finding each personality type of Shadow Roles. We found out that you are most likely to find a "Hostilis" species in the backrooms.

We have attempted to communicate with the entity several times. One of the specimens (Shadow Role no.15) seems to have conscience and emotion, as further tests have been made it seems that this Shadow Role has an IQ of about the average teenage human. Which is extremely sentient considering that this is an entity from the backrooms.

it also appears to show affection to a scientist

How they got here:

After we have experimented on no.15, we have decided to test the new technology to transferring Shadow Roles from the backrooms to the real world. As for the results in this transfer, it went successful. After some experience with the real world, the Shadow Role appears to have a memory of some of the places. Most of them being forests and abandoned buildings.

Do's and Don'ts

Do's

  • DO compliment them for what they do.
  • DO tell stories about yourself
  • DO give them almond water if possible
  • DO hold their hands when wandering with them

Don'ts

  • DONT lie to them
  • DONT insult them
  • DONT bring them to safe levels (because they will disappear)
  • DONT stare directly at their eyes.

it is also recommended to never bring them to other tamable entities such as male Deathmoths, or Dollfaces. Also, its not smart to bring them to other Shadow roles with different eye colors.

they also have some kind of relationship to party goers, and party poopers.

Recent reports (4)

Report (11/05/22):
the shadow roles have now been confirmed to communicate with other entities, and have also been observed to have some psychological disorders. Some disorders have not been classified by scientists and researchers. they have been proven to be useful in researching possible future disorders that may occur to humans alike. it also found out that some shadow roles have also been seen in social media such as twitter, such as in an account with the name @Moss_prince112. Unfortunately we had to shut down the account to not panic the public.

Report (13/05/22):
it has been confirmed that Shadowroles do get aggressive if another entity approaches it. It has also been discovered that they are an apex predator of the backrooms

Report (02/07/22):
it has been several days since the last disaster, the shadow roles arent what we think they are. They killed half of the labs employees, some of us had to go to the outposts to recover there. I… however, am determined to find out why they suddenly gone rogue.
