Level 48.2 is a sub-layer of it's parent level, Level 48, and it's quite beautiful, to be honest.

Description

Level 48.2 is a beautiful and serene,
infinite expanse of lukewarm oceanwater stretching out for miles beyond miles. Within this majestic beauty of an ocean, lies a small archipelago consisting of only two tropical islands, with only one having a name, which is Sunland. These islands have small tropical rainforests with dense canopies acting somewhat like the roof of a house. Like it's parent Level, Level 48, Level 48.2 has no day/night cycle, but instead of being stuck at a permanent sunset, it is stuck at a permanent state of sunrise, otherwise known as "dawn" amongst the beings that call this level home. It often has rainfalls and minor storms on occasion unlike it's parent level, and no matter what, the clouds do not end up going in front of the level's sun. Speaking of which, just like it's parent level, Level 48.2's sun also has a red-yellow gradient colour1, but unlike Level 48, Level 48.2's sun only gives off 20% of the sunlight that Earth receives at noon. The tempreature of this sub-layer tends to flucuate depending on what the weather is like. For example, if it is sunny, the temperature will be between 20-23°C (68-75°F) never going below or above. However, when it is raining, the temperature rises to 25°C (77°F), while the temperature during a storm is slightly colder, being 24°C (75.2°F). Some of the rainforests on Level 48.2's islands are mostly old-growth, with some exceptions such as where outposts have been set up by the beings that call this sub-layer home.

Entities

Speaking of which, the only known entities that live within this sub-level are known as Entity 147 instances, and as you might have guessed, they are in fact the said "beings" that call this sub-layer home. They have created small settlements within this level's rainforests, the largest settlement being Sunland, while the other settlement on the second island is much smaller, only consisting of tents, and small makeshift hawaiian style houses, and it is called "Camp Sol". Unlike other instances of Entity 147, the instances that live here worship a different being called "The Sun Chief", instead of the Gardener and Mariner, which they also somewhat worship, but not as often.

Differences

This sub-layer seems to have a strange effect on the instances of Entity 147 that live here, that makes them lack their rage state no matter if a wanderer says the phrase "It's only a matter of time" or not. This strange effect has confused a lot of wanderers, and even the M.E.G, since nobody knows how this effect works or how it even formed in the first place, but theories suggest that the level messes with their psyche, and instincts, causing them to lose their rage state.

Nature

No matter where you go in this level, you will always find life, that inculdes the ocean itself, the islands, etc. The tropical rainforests in this level have a lot of foliage, lush vegetation, edible plants, and trees such as conifers, palms, rubber trees cecropia trees, lobster-claws, water-lilies, Banana trees, mangoes, and pineapples, along with some Flora from it's parent level (Level 48), such as Gromeliads and Veroka Flowers, along with this sub-layers own native Flora and Fauna, both of which reside both on the islands, and the ocean, which mostly contains various species of coral, marine plants, and marine Fauna.

Properties

One of the most mysterious things about this level is that ships are often seen in the distance, about 1 mile (1.609 kilometers) away from the islands, and after exactly an hour, they disappear without a trace, and not even the Entity 147 instances that live here know why this happens, and all theories that have been created do not explain as to why the ships disappear without a trace. Most of the Fauna that live in this sub-layer are harmless and non-hostile, and in some cases, even tameable, however, only a very small amount of Fauna that are unique to Level 48.2 are hostile when provoked. An in-depth list of Flora and Fauna that are within Level 48.2 has been provided below so you can be aware of the hostile animals:

Bases, Outposts and Communities

Sunland

Sunland is both the largest settlement, and island within Level 48.2. The entire population is about 108, and is comprised of Entity 147. The style of the houses in this community are reminiscent of hawaiian style. Just like Domum Terra in Level 121, whenever a major decision is needed to be made, all the instances in Sunland will gather to take a majority vote. This community has a direct obssession with seafood restaurants, and religious holidays. The restaurants are mainly reminiscent of sushi restaurants from Japan in the Frontrooms, however, there are slight differences. One is that aquariums filled with Serious Fish and Sea Swimps are built into the dining tables, and secured with Tack Sap from Tack Trees, where the instances consume their cultural seafood delicacies. Another difference is that Orb Bugs are used to light up the entire restaurant instead of lanterns. In the middle of the the town, a statue of the Sun Chief can be seen holding two suns in boths of it's hands.

Camp Sol

Camp Sol is both the smallest settlement, and island within Level 48.2. Just like Sunland, the population of this settlement is entirely comprised of Entity 147. However, the population is way smaller than Sunland's, being about 17. Unlike Sunland however, there are barely any houses, with most of the shelters being tents made out of nature, and Land Wolf hide. Instances in Camp Sol are not really into seafood delicacies. Instead, they usually eat animals such as Grabs and Wickens. Unlike Sunland, Camp Sol does not have a large statue of the Sun Chief. Instead, each instance that lives in Camp Sol has a smaller replica of the statue seen in Sunland.

The Sun Chief

The Sun Chief is described by Entity 147 instances as a genderless humanoid that created Level 48.2, and a small number of instances in Camp Sol believe that the Sun Chief also created Level 48 as well as it's other sub-levels. It is commonly depicted wearing a mask made of brass, with spikes surrounding the perimeter, meant to look like a sun.4 It's depicted having a body with a red/yellow gradient, as well as orange hands, and feet. It has two tails, meant to represent how it created both Level 48 and Level 48.2 first. It is also depicted having both suns from Level 48, and Level 48.2 in it's hands. According to popular belief, it is said to be one of the Children of the Void, mainly because of it's bioluminescent purple eyes. On top of that, according to Entity 147 instances, it also refused to explain why it has those eyes.5 UPDATE from the M.E.G.: For more information about the Sun Chief, click this: The Lost Children Of the Void

Entrances And Exits

Entrances

The only known entrance to Level 48.2 is by swimming south of Level 48's beach, and into the ocean. The signs that you have entered this sub-layer are as followed:
•Level 48 appears to turn into a sun.
•Level 48's sun appears to fade away.
•Seeing two islands in the distance.

Exits

The only way to exit this level is by swimming back east to Level 48. Make sure not to go west, as you will get lost, and most likely end up drowning.
