MochiCat- Entity 123: "Weather Napkins"
rating: 0+x

Entity Number: 123

Habitat(s): Places With Weather Cycles

Weather Breakers can be found in levels with a weather cycle, specifically with constant rain or sources of water, such as Level 102 or Level 985.

Description:

Weather Breakers look like a napkin with a plump, twisted head, secured by a gigantic rubber band, and sometimes hang from unseeable strings. They are usually around 3 feet tall. Weather Breakers also do not usually have faces- until they use their power of changing the weather. Then, they get a small face with two small dots and a small smile, which is kind of cute, not gonna lie. They do not make any noticeable noises, but when they are near, you can hear the faint rustle of paper or cloth.

Forms:

There are two forms Weather Breaker, the normal and the upside-down. An upside-down Weather Breaker must hop along with their head, opposed to the normal Weather Breaker, which simply glides along the floor. Their powers of weather differ between forms. The normal Weather Breaker can stop rain for a brief period of time, while the upside-down Weather Breaker can cause rain for a longer period of time.

Behaviors:

Weather Breakers are usually quite docile, and will even act affectionately if approached, and are reported to like headpats. However, if hurt, the Teru Teru Bōzu will gain an extremely angry face… and attack. If it’s an upside-down Teru Teru Bōzu, it will attempt to drown you in an endless rain, flooding rooms of levels until you drown or lose it. If it’s a normal Teru Teru Bōzu, it will evaporate your sources of almond water, continuing until you go insane, die of thirst, or you manage to shake it off.

Biology:

The Teru Teru Bōzu looks like paper or fabric twisted into a ghost-like shape, with its head secured with a gigantic rubber band. Entity 123 is usually around 3 feet tall, and moves quite silently. The layers of fabric- or paper- protect the central organs, making it extremely had to kill via stabbing. According to some reports, Entity 123 has slight trouble seeing and hearing when they are faceless, making them a lot easier to avoid. Quite interesting, actually!

Discovery:

Due to some conflicting reports, the origin of the anomalous Teru Teru Bōzus, also known as Entity 123, is largely left to speculation. However, there were some sightings of a normal Teru Teru Bōzu sitting in a puddle of almond water within Level 0. The next day, it had vanished. Therefore, it is theorized that a normal Japanese Weather Doll had no-clipped by accident, and just had an unlucky landing- spawning an entirely new entity.

Additional Info: (Optional)

Taming a Teru Teru Bōzu takes a ridiculous amount of work. They are sometimes sought after for their almond water summoning abilities, but they usually will not submit to a wanderer’s usual method of taming. To actually tame a Teru Teru Bōzu, you must treat it with the utmost kindness- by doing things such as: drawing on a face (if it doesn’t have one), giving it offerings (for some unknown reason, they like bells of precious minerals), and sharing some of your rations with the creature.

Do's and Don'ts:

Do:

  • If chased, flee until you reach safety or can take it out. If possible, scare it away with scissors, as they're terrified of them!
  • Make sure to always be nice to your local Weather Breaker to avoid getting hurt.
    • If you're slightly fearful of the entity, simply creeping away will not disturb it.

Don't:

Whatever you do, DO NOT: verbally or physically attack the Weather Breaker, attempt to stab it (its skin is too thick), attempt to tie it into its upside-down form, or flip it over in its normal form, as this will not change the type, but send it into an aggravated state.
