The monstrous efficiency of the Allseer’s prison threatens the humane nature of Frontrooms concepts with similar designs. How do you act when you know you’re being watched?

How should you?

Description

Level 393 is the 394th level of the backrooms, designed by the heart of a large machine, the Allseer. It is a large, enclosed rotunda of prison cells designed to orbit the “inspection house” where a single viewer (the guard) purportedly surveys all prisoners from a single point. The darkness that appears to live in the Panopticon’s center conceals which cell is being observed.

The inspection house

You won’t know when it's watching; it’s best to assume always.

The entirety of the concrete enclosure appears blue in the dim lighting emitted from the inspection house. It is cold, large, and desolate. A single footstep echoes – certainly drawing the attention of the viewer (although this cannot be confirmed). It is unclear whether more exists beyond the Panopticon’s walls.

Exploration

Only one expedition has been made into Level 393 since its discovery in 2̴̟̎̑͘0̸̤̃̀́x̷̲̊͗͆ẍ̷̪́͒. During a M.E.G. mission to Level 52, the explorers reported a disorienting no-clip into the Panopticon’s cage from a dark cavern.
Once aware of the unfamiliar surroundings, M.E.G. carefully analyzed cells 20 through 50 during their stay. Many of the Panopticon’s chambers featured hostile architecture such as spiked, metal cots, thus eliminating any potential comfort in the hollow rooms. While the existence of current prisoners remains unclear, it is certain a prisoner visitor? once resided in cell 49, where M.E.G. operatives discovered what appeared to be graffiti scratched into the wall:

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Who watches the watchmen?

Upon their return, the initial 3-agent crew returned one member short. When questioned about the third member, explorers asserted their team member had “succumbed to the viewer’s control,” and “became stagnant in fear of taking a step.” His current condition is unknown.

The M.E.G. agent that refused to return

Since the accidental visit, a lack of volunteers has prevented further exploration.

Entities

The invisible omnipresence itself has not been classified. Thus, some deny the existence of such a “viewer.” However, during the first and only M.E.G. expedition to Level 393, explorers insisted they were “being watched by a heavy, looming eye” despite an inability to produce evidence of their claim.
