Don’t read this trash. I have abandoned this article and it will be deleted soon hopefully. While it’s still up here’s a self plug: Level -999, Level 129, and a tale I wrote. I encourage you to downvote as I hate and despise this. I have also disowned this article and no longer wish to associate myself with it. I didn’t like the rewrite so I gave up. Go read my other crap. Peace.

- Sincerely the Ex author of this article

Level -666 is the 667th negative Level of the Backrooms. I discovered it on February 1st 2021.

Description:

Hello? Is anyone seeing this? Gosh… I hope they are. My name is Nate. I’m currently in what looks like Level 11, but there’s no people or entities or anything. I’m worried it’s some sort of false reality.
Level -666 has only been entered by me as of writing this. I was in Level 18 when I began to experience a panic attack and went unconscious. I woke up in a small closet. I have named it Level -666 because I think the number suits it. I don’t know where I am, but if anyone is seeing this please read this entry so you do not befall the same fate I have.

When I begun, I woke up in a small grey closet that is pitch black with a door that was open. Once I opened the door I saw a tall, dark building that was extraordinarily big. If I had to guess I’d say it was almost 10 miles high and wide. It is possible to see in the level, but light is scarce. The walls are made of dusty, old, brown, bricks that appear to be indestructible. I attempted to break the bricks with a piece of stone I found on the ground to escape but didn’t leave a single dent. The area outside the closet appears to be a long hallway with the long walls and tall ceiling. Upon traveling down this hallway I eventually found a large staircase. The staircase was also very dusty and appeared to be a spiral staircase built for a giant. I had to jump in order to get down the stairs.

Upon traveling down the stairs it appears some sort of event was triggered where an echoey voice could be heard throughout the entire level. This is what I heard.

Hello there (the voice will refer to you by name). Welcome to the asylum. Here are the rules.
No Smiling
No Laughing
No Having Fun
No Being Happy
No Enjoying your time at the Asylum.

As of now, I’m not sure what happens when you break the rules. I was too scared to.

Upon traveling down the monstrous staircase I saw a large picture of a censored face on the wall that was too high to reach. The face was covered by black markings, scratch marks, and pixels. When I reached the bottom of the staircase you will find a big wooden door that lead to what I can only describe as “The Trials”

The Trials

According to what I experienced, the trials are how you escape the level. On my way down the staircase I attempted to noclip multiple times but failed every time. It appears The Glitch (which is the name I gave the entity that appears to run this level) owns the level and can manipulate who leaves. When I reached the bottom of the staircase, I found a big wooden door with a small doorknob for you to open it. Upon opening it, I found a long dark hallway that seemed normal, but was deceiving. The level lost its enormous size at that point and turns into a normal sized hallway. Once I entered the door, I heard a big slam and the door disappeared

Upon traveling down the hallway it appeared The Glitch began to alter the reality of the level itself and I experienced my worst fears. I’m shaking as I type this up, but I don’t want anyone else to experience the utter torture I went through. I’m pretty sure that The Trials will vary for every traveller, but I’m not sure. I experienced 7 trials. Here they are, but read at your own risk. They were gruesome.

The First Trial

The first trial was me falling through the floor into a volcano and being burned alive for 10 minutes without dying. After the 10 minutes I appeared back in the dark hallway, completely unscathed.

The Second Trial

The second trial came a few minutes later. I found a crossroads in the hallway and turned right to see a room full of the crawler fungus. I went through the entire process of becoming a crawler and once the process was complete, the same thing occurred. I appeared back in the hallway unscathed. This was difficult, but I just kept telling myself it was just a hallucination.

The Third Trial

The third trial came right after, and I saw my family appear in front of me. I suddenly became overwhelmed with sadness at the sight of them. The sadness quickly turned to horror as they were all mutilated by various entities. I was unable to walk forward at this point and attempt to save them until the entities and my family — or what was left of them — disappeared. This was extremely bloody and gruesome. The images of their bodies being ripped apart and their screams as they begged for my help were traumatizing.

The Fourth Trial

The fourth trial came about 10 minutes after when I recovered from the third trial. An M.E.G. agent suddenly noclipped through the wall and splashed liquid pain into my mouth. I proceeded to go through the whole process of that as the M.E.G. agent watched me from afar. I tried to kill the agent but was unsuccessful as I would always be teleported back a few feet when I attempted to do this. As usual, I suddenly was fine and all traces of the trial were gone. After this trial, I attempted to perform the mountain king ritual but I sat there for a few minutes and didn’t hear any music. I quickly realized the ritual was not going to work here.

The Fifth Trial

The next trial was one of the most simple, but terrifying. The entire level collapsed into a blue void and I was trapped in The Blue Channel for hours. My entire body dematerialized and I floated through the blue void as a bodiless consciousness. I eventually woke up in the hallway again, completely fine.

The Sixth Trial

The sixth trial appeared to focus more on embarrassment than fear. It occurred a few minutes after the previous. I turned the corner where suddenly I was surrounded by laughing. I saw thousands of silhouettes pointing and laughing at me. Some even were able to beat me up to points where I should’ve died. I was totally covered in signs labeled with things like “kick me” or “pathetic” or “nobody loves you” as I was tormented. The entire time I repeated to myself “It’s just a hallucination”. I was right, and I woke up normal.

The Seventh Trial

The seventh trial can only be described as the worst one of all. I was burned, turned into a crawler, watched my family die, experienced liquid pain, sent to the blue channel, beat to near death, but the final was more worse than any of this. I woke up in my house from reality. I prepared for the worst as I stood out of bed and walked down the stairs into the kitchen. I could feel the carpet as I expected to get murdered or killed or tortured in some way. It felt so realistic I started to question if it was even a hallucination or not. I was surprised to see nobody there. This trial got worse as I entered my basement, where I had originally noclipped. I quickly realized what was happening. I tried to stop but my feet kept moving. I started entering my basement only to see the walls were yellow. There buzzing which began to beat in my head. I then heard whispers that began to whisper things in my ears.

“Remember this moment?”
“Remember when you left your family behind?”
“Remember when you entered this horrible place?”

These are a few things I heard. It felt like I was practically forced to go through the moment where I noclipped out of reality again, but hear all these loud whispers in my ear. The whispers got louder and louder until they became screams. Once I touched the yellow wall I phased through it and slipped on the ground falling into it. I was falling for hours in a black void as the screaming bewhittled me and tormented me. After hours I suddenly appeared in what looked like Level 0. The screaming stopped and all I saw was The Glitch from the large image.

I was utterly terrified began to sob uncontrollably as The Glitch approached me. He began to laugh and we had this interaction:

The Glitch: Congratulations. You survived the Asylum.

Nathan: GET ME OUT OF THIS LEVEL YOU MONSTER!

The Glitch: Patience. I wanted to congratulate you for discovering my playhouse. Nobody has been able to play with me in a long time. I hope I’ll see you again soon. This was fun.

Nathan: LET ME GO!

The Glitch: I don’t think you understand. I am beyond your very comprehension. My power is more than you can handle. You don’t tell me what to do. I make you do what I want. My power is beyond your feeble mind. All of your problems trace back to me. I am the true definition of power. The reason this place is so bad, is because of me. I manipulate people into entering my play place where I can have fun. You just happened to be the first one to fall for it.

Nathan: Show your face you coward!

The Glitch: In soon time, you will see. You won’t be the only victim. For now, enjoy the city.

The note in my hand when I woke up in Level 11

At this point that The Glitch began to laugh and the level dematerialized and I woke up on Level 11 — I think. In my hand was a note that simply said “Congratulations, you won. Enjoy the city.” Exhuasted and on the brink of insanity, I attempted to seek out a nearby M.E.G. agent who could bring me to medical care but found nobody. Almond water helped me survive. Gosh I love that stuff. I passed out and when I woke up I was still there. I honestly don’t know if this is Level 11 or not, but I haven’t found anyone.

Entities

The Glitch

Currently, I don’t know much about this entity. I don’t think I can even begin to describe biology of it. It was horrifying. All I’ll say is it is a humanoid with a black shadow for a body. It’s face was almost “censored” or “distorted” by a bunch of glitchy pixels. It looked like if a character in a video game began to glitch out and its texture was just all over the place. That’s how I came up with the name. It’s body seemed to defy any sort of laws of physics. The area of the level where it stood would always begin to change color, texture, shape, and just defy reality. It also had long black hair hanging from its head, which was also blurred and pixelated. I have no clue what thing is or what it wants, but I don’t think it should be taken lightly. This entity hasn’t been seen on any other levels and I assume it’s native. I’ve scoured the database looking for anything but found nothing.

Entrances And Exits:

Entrances

According to what happened, I entered this level after having an anxiety induced panic attack on Level 18. I’d rather not elaborate on this event. For now, I recommended you avoid Level 18 under any circumstances if you are prone to anxiety. It’s not worth it.

Exits

The only known way to exit is by completing The Trials. You may end up on Level 11 but I’m not sure if that is where you will go every time. I’m still not sure if this is level 11 because there are no people. I’ve tried to leave through the known ways but nothing has worked. Noclipping is apparently impossible as well.

If you made it to the end thank you for reading this. Please beware and never seek out this level. I will try to escape this city now, but I’m not sure I ever will. I may even still be in Level -666. Oh gosh. The Glitch is a very dangerous entity and I don’t believe this is the end of him. Someone please help.
