The End of Time

For a long time, people thought that time itself could never end in the universe, let alone in the Backrooms. This level proves all of those theories wrong.

Time can end, at least in the Backrooms. If a level remains untouched for too long, and ignored by all for 3000-20000 years, time will stop. The level will become barren, devoid of time and movement. This level is… "corrupted", I guess you put it that way. Feels like you can't even move anymore. But you are, correct? One step at a time. The world is falling under you, it feels like it. But that can't happen, time has stopped. You want to get out of this hellhole, don't you? Me too.

Despite the time becoming dull, this is where you will be. And I hope you enjoy your stay.

Level -333, or "The End of Time", is a level known for its mysterious properties. Despite the name, time does not seem to "end", but rather is altered in some unnatural way. The level is largely undiscovered and should be avoided.

Level -333 resembles an endless expanse of grassland with acacia trees, lakes, and in the distance a forest supposedly with more flora. Aside from the flora of this level there are human structures in the distance, as if life had lived here before this level was abandoned. The Lost do not remember civilizations having been placed here as this level only recalls that they gathered resources and that there was fauna on this level, although there is no type of animal or entity native to this level left. Level -333 takes on a black and white tone, the cycle is stuck in the day, and Level -333 has a gigantic cloud surrounding the entire level, and there is no entity of any kind native to this level, only entities or people who were trapped in this level.

The sound environment is one of the things that attracts the most attention at this level. There are no natural or artificial sounds, only silence. However, from time to time you can hear some whispering voices in the background, as if something or someone is trying to communicate with the explorer. The voices are indecipherable and come from all directions as if the player has been surrounded by a chorus of ghosts.

Time in Level -333 is non-existent, meaning you can't move or do anything at all, so you're always just frozen for the rest of your days, it's unknown how you survive this level without time, this level serves as torture for anyone, and if you stay in the level you can see shadows staring at you from afar. Any attempt to interact with the level is completely useless because you're frozen. Any wanderer unlucky enough to enter Level -333 will find themselves completely stuck, and being tortured until the end of their days.

Also spending a long time at Level -333 can cause the explorer to see strange humanoid figures that disappear into the darkness. The figures appear to be normal-looking human beings, but with something about their faces that is not quite human. It seems as if they have gone through some kind of transformation or experiment. Any attempt to interact with them is futile, as they disappear into the mist upon approaching them.
