Description

Level 457 is presented as a large, abandoned industrial factory completely overrun with plants. All sorts of plants can be found, including species you'd never see together, or those that would be extremely rare. The air is 20% pollen, which, strangely, doesn't seem to cause any allergic reactions. The atmosphere is serene; many have described it as a sanctuary of vegetation.

Aside from the plants, the level is a maze of maintenance corridors, large rooms filled with non-functioning and completely rusted-out engines, and a few walkways suspended over the engine rooms or over shallow, water-filled pits. Among the machinery are forgotten production lines, conveyor belts, gantries, and scaffolding, all intertwined with the plants. The factory's pipes carry nothing and are so worn that they often fall apart. There are no windows; light enters through small gaps in the ceilings of the level. People who manage to get their heads over these gaps suffer temporary blindness for four to five days. Finally, around the level, you can find puddles of water. This water is usually undrinkable. You can tell if the water is drinkable if it's dripping from the ceiling, but only the water that falls; the water that touches the floor is not.
