Description

In the Backrooms, Level -1.1 is a peculiar and unsettling place. It’s as if you’ve stumbled upon an abandoned library or archive, long forgotten by time and civilization. The air smells musty, and the flickering fluorescent lights cast eerie shadows on the faded wallpaper. The walls are lined with rows upon rows of rusted metal shelves, each stacked with dusty, yellowed documents, ancient books, and cryptic scrolls.

Bases, Outposts and Communities

Those who listen too closely risk losing themselves, their memories blending with the echoes of others. The shelves sway, as if dancing to an ancient tune.

Base/Outpost/Community A

  • The Hub: At the heart of Level 1.1 stands The Hub, a nexus where explorers converge. It houses bases, outposts, and communities—refuges for those who wander these endless halls. The Major Explorer Group (M.E.G.) maintains Base Alpha here, sharing supply outposts with the Backrooms Navigation and Travel Guild (B.N.T.G.). Together, they chart uncharted territories and safeguard their fragile existence
  • Details Eternal Twilight And The Curators: The flickering fluorescent lights cast eerie shadows on rows of forgotten filing cabinets. Each drawer holds tales of lost civilizations, abandoned experiments, and cryptic artifacts. The archives harbor blueprints for survival, encoded messages, and maps leading to other levels—whispers of escape or descent into deeper madness Silent figures clad in moth-eaten suits shuffle through the stacks. They are the curators, guardians of knowledge. Their eyes hold reflections of countless timelines, and their fingers trace the spines of forgotten tomes. They mutter incantations to keep the memories intact, lest they fade into oblivion.
  • Community Halls And The Whispering Shelves: In dimly lit chambers, survivors gather. They share stories of narrow escapes, strange encounters, and glimpses of otherworldly vistas. Here, alliances form, and hope flickers like a dying bulb. The walls bear graffiti—cryptic symbols, coded warnings, and heartfelt messages etched by trembling hands Some say the shelves themselves speak—a chorus of forgotten voices. They murmur secrets, forgotten names, and forbidden spells. Those who listen too closely risk losing themselves, their memories blending with the echoes of others. The shelves sway, as if dancing to an ancient tune.

Additional Content

  • Deep within the labyrinthine expanse of The Backrooms lies Level 1.1—a place shrouded in mystery and whispers. This sub-level is a straight, narrow corridor that stretches on for an undetermined distance. Its walls are made of cinder blocks painted white, and the floor is adorned with blue tiles, following a consistent blue and white color scheme. Occasionally, exposed piping and ventilation ducts appear through cracks and holes in the walls and ceiling.

Here’s what we know about the additional content within Level 1.1:

Sectors and Variance:

  • Sector 1: The first sector of Level 1.1 is the most explored. It’s easy to access and contains numerous resources in crates. The ceiling height varies (7 to 12 feet), but the hall’s width remains consistent at about 12 feet. Fluorescent lighting hums like in Level 0. While explorers often gather here, the number decreases significantly after Outpost 2. No dangerous entities have been documented in this sector, which continues for an estimated 10-15 miles.
  • Sector 2: Considerably more dangerous and unstable than Sector 1, Sector 2 challenges experienced explorers. Glitched features abound—noclipping through walls into other areas of Level 1 is possible. The floor slopes at odd angles, creating steep hills and drops. Colors may shift to abnormal hues, identical sections of hallway repeat, and pipes obstruct the path1.
  • Unconfirmed Sectors:

Beyond Sector 2 lies uncharted territory—an unconfirmed sector that beckons the daring. What secrets lie hidden there? Perhaps lost archives, forgotten messages, or entities waiting to be discovered.
The Quest for Answers:
Many have attempted to reach the end of Level 1.1, but none have succeeded. It’s not the inaccessibility or distance that thwarts them, but the dangerous variance in safety and entity count. As explorers venture deeper, instability increases. The later sectors—extremely perilous—should be avoided at all costs.
And so, Level 1.1 endures—an archive of both mundane and extraordinary. Its forgotten corridors stretch into infinity, promising answers and madness in equal measure. Perhaps, one day, a weary traveler will decipher its cryptic index and unlock the truth hidden within.
