SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class 3
- {$one}
- {$two}
- {$three}
Photograph allegedly taken by an unidentified wanderer inside Level 823. Note that the precipitation occurs exclusively inside the structure.
Description
Level 823, also known as "Perpetual Rain", takes the appearance of a small residential house located within a wide rural field. The interior layout resembles a typical modern home, containing a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and several bedrooms connected by a hallway.
The most notable anomaly of Level 823 is the constant rainfall occurring inside the house. Rain continuously falls from the ceiling across all interior rooms regardless of structural barriers. The precipitation behaves similarly to natural rain and accumulates into small puddles across the floor before eventually disappearing through unknown means.
The exterior environment, visible through the windows, remains permanently frozen in daytime conditions. The sky appears overcast yet bright, and the surrounding environment consists of a large open grassy field similar to that seen in Level 94. Distant dense forests can be observed at the horizon.
Despite the house appearing structurally intact, leaving the house is strongly discouraged. A thick layer of fog covers the surrounding field, which appears to attract multiple hostile entities.
Documented entities seen within the fog include:
- Mangleds
- Skin-Stealers
- Hounds
- Deathmoths
- Child Facelings
There are also several reports claiming that adult Facelings have been observed wandering the field carrying blunt wooden objects. In some cases, these entities have reportedly attempted to incapacitate wanderers using these objects.
Food can be found inside the house, primarily inside the kitchen refrigerator and cabinets. However, all known food items recovered from Level 823 have been determined to be toxic for human consumption. Ingestion may result in severe illness.
Doors inside the house behave anomalously. Each time a wanderer opens a bedroom door, the interior of the room may appear completely different from its previous state.
Bases, Outposts and Communities
There are no known bases, outposts or communities on this level.
Additional Content
Environmental Notes
Although rainfall is constant inside the structure, the outside environment does not appear to experience rain. The fog outside the house is extremely dense and significantly reduces visibility.
Extended exposure to the fog has been associated with increased encounters with hostile entities.
Entrances And Exits
Entrances
Level 823 may be entered by wandering through thick fog within level 10. Wanderers who lose their sense of direction in the fog may suddenly emerge inside the house.
Exits
Entering a bedroom with no windows and with its lights turned on may transport the wanderer to level 6. Due to the constantly shifting interiors of the rooms, it is impossible to determine which bedroom will trigger this exit.
Another exit may be found outside the house. A sewer entrance located somewhere within the surrounding field may lead to level 34. However, reaching it requires leaving the safety of the house and navigating through the fog-filled field, which poses a significant risk due to entity activity.
