Level 207 is the 208th level of the backrooms
Description
Level 207 resembles an old narrow library (presumably from the early 1800’s). Bookshelves cover most walls, With a gap of around 1 to 3 metres between each bookshelf; the bookshelves are filled with books of all different colours, shapes and sizes. The only light sources are dimly lit chandeliers hanging down from the ceiling and gas lamps spread out evenly across the level. The M.E.G has determined level 207 spans for approximately 7.82 thousand square kilometres on every side, so it does have an edge. The edge is located approximately 7.79 square kilometres away from the centre. The edge is more unstable than the rest of the level with objects and furniture glitching through walls and bookshelves, you should avoid the edge at all costs if you want a chance of survival since it's infested with entities and furniture glitches often which can result in crushing you or suffocating you.
Reading areas

While exploring, one could find rooms with tables and desks. These places are called 'reading areas.' They're extremely rare, but if you come across one, it's advised to stay there for a while to gather resources and rest before venturing further into the level. Finding a reading area is unlikely. These areas have the same style as the rest of the level, with rooms that resemble the main level but are typically wider. Chairs and tables fill the empty space. Chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and the windows provide bright lighting. On the tables, you can find bottles of Almond Water, pens, and board games like chess. It is recommended to collect as much Almond Water as possible for your travels through the backrooms.
Every time a wanderer falls asleep in a reading area, all the tables are restocked with these items. If someone creates a base in this level, the reading areas would be the best bet due to the accessibility of Almond Water. Entities are usually not found inside these rooms when the lights are on. The reason behind this phenomenon is unknown, but the M.E.G is currently researching it. The windows in the reading areas are completely white and cannot be passed through.
However, there is one issue with these areas. Every 12 hours, the lights go out. If a wanderer is not asleep when this happens, the three entities found in this level will be drawn towards them, likely resulting in their death. The reason entities are attracted to the room during darkness is believed to be the vulnerability of wanderers in extreme darkness. The lights will switch back on after another 12 hours.
Books
Each book in level 207 has random words filling the pages. An example of a book found in level 207, "calling hypothesis completely after through because." This passage was taken from a book labelled "No maybe."
Reading books will have near to no effect on the reader unless they read an entire page. Doing so will result in the random text previously found in the book being replaced by all of the wanderers memories and they will enter an unwakeable coma. This also works with entities. Why this happens is unknown although it's thought that the books are sentient.
Bases, Outposts and Communities

This base's name is unknown but what we do know is that it consists of 7 people who survive on Almond Water and food from a reading area close to the edge of the level. They do not welcome newcomers or wanderers unless they are willing to trade with them or help them with supplies.
M.E.G
There are Two M.E.G communities in level 207.
- Community 1 Consists of 20 researchers who explore the level gathering more information on how entities' brains works using books filled with their memories as well as researching the lights found in the reading area's. they will be friendly to wanderers and sometimes help them find community 2 but won't let anybody help in there research unless asked to by a distinguished member of the M.E.G
- Community 2 has supplies like food: Almond Water, clothes, weapons and shelter for wanderers in need. They will also help explorers stock up on resources. Their supplies may be scarce at times since they get restocked every month or so, don't be angry if they don't always have what you need, they're trying to help. If you're attempting to escape level 207 try to find this community as they will direct you to the nearest exit.
Entities
There are three known entities in this level:
- Entity 10 "Skin Stealers"These are quite rare but are most commonly found around the edge of the level.
- Entity 3 "Smilers" These can be found commonly in places not covered by the light from the chandeliers.
- Entity 2 "The Windows" These can be found in windows which are found randomly on walls not covered by bookshelves or in the windows in the reading area's although extremely uncommon.
Entrances And Exits
Entrances
- One way to enter level 207, one must climb a ladder labelled "LIBRARY" These are found on level 205.
- Explorers could also enter by walking down an old dimly lit staircase in The End.
Exits
- One way to exit level 207, one must find a book with a blank cover and no words written in it. To exit, one must write down the word "Exit" on any page of these books. This will take you to a random level. Blank books can also be used to be healed or for supplies using the words "Almond", and "Heal" although these books will no longer work after a single use.
- Wanderers could exit level 207 is by no clipping through a bookshelf at the edge of the level, this exit is not recommended due to the dangers of the edge of the level.
- Another exit for level 207 is by finding an open window in a reading area with swamp like scenery on the opposite side. Climbing through the window will lead to level 66.
