[TEAM EVAN] of [REGIMENT TRACK MAPPERS] [DESIGNATION FOUR]
The M.E.G. Regimental and Divisional Teams consist of our most elite operatives. Within their chosen vocations, the Teams apply their diverse and valuable skills to safeguard the survival, safety and prosperity of humanity with their lives.
Excellence in their field maintains the comfort, security, and well-being of their fellow brothers and sisters in the M.E.G. family. For many, being on a Team gives their life purpose and direction in an otherwise hopeless reality — and the bonds of friendship forged over missions usually makes these teams inseparable.
Description:
As a Track Mappers Team, Troglodyte are navigational experts — or at least, they’re supposed to be. Despite their training and proven abilities, they seem to have a track record of getting hopelessly lost at every possible opportunity. Yet despite their apparent incompetence, they always seem to end up in the right place at the right time — a quality the M.E.G. finds exceedingly valuable.
Members:
Here are the profiles of the members of this Team:
M.E.G. Operative - [EVAN H.]
[Track Mappers] Operative: 2nd Lieutenant
[NAME]: Evan M. Hope
Evan is the leader of Team Troglodyte. Apart from his excellent navigational instincts, he possesses a diverse set of skills which include marksmanship, radio communications, reconnaissance, wilderness survival, and medical aid, picked up from his time in Quick Match Team Wonderland.
Evan is known as a calm, level-headed and sensible individual. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the rest of his team. When Evan isn’t busy cleaning up their messes, he is usually busy trying to convince them not to make messes in the first place. Despite the challenges of leadership, Evan is fiercely loyal, and will do anything to defend Troglodyte and keep his team out of trouble.
M.E.G. Operative - [SAVANT P.]
[Track Mappers] Operative: 1st Sergeant
[NAME]: Savant J. Pryce
Savant is an expert, down-to-earth navigator with a genius-level intellect that lives up to his name. Despite being second-in-command of a Track Mappers team, he seems to be the only member of Troglodyte who truly comprehends and appreciates the complex intricacies of non-Euclidian pathfinding. Savant was academically excellencent in Physics and Mathematics at college — he fell into the Backrooms just days before he would have completed his PhD, an event which he resents to this day.
To those who know him well, Savant is a loyal, helpful and knowledgeable friend. However, his lack of interpersonal skills may cause him to come off as arrogant or pedantic to new acquaintances, and he may struggle with social interactions.
M.E.G. Operative - [JARED L.]
[Track Mappers] Operative: Corporal
[NAME]: Jared E. Lasky
Jared is a typical example of what many consider to be a 'fun' individual. With a mischievous and energetic disposition, he has been described as the team’s 'hype man'. Within Troglodyte, Jared handles more physically demanding tasks, as well as the rare situations in which physical combat is unavoidable.
Jared has a rather unhelpful tendency to use his fists before his brain. He suffers a lack of foresight, and may make poor judgments in missions of a more delicate nature. As a result, Jared is no stranger to disciplinary action, and his antics often result in his teammates getting into trouble with him. Even so, Jared is valued for his strength both in body and heart, and can be trusted to charge fearlessly into chaos when the need so arises.
M.E.G. Operative - [BAILEY P.]
[Track Mappers] Operative: Corporal
[NAME]: Bailey R. Pauling
Bailey is the youngest and least experienced member of the team. Because of his clueless naïveté, he is usually the victim of (or unwittingly complicit in) Jared’s shenanigans. However, his youth should not be overlooked as a weakness. Bailey’s optimistic outlook and creativity are a breath of fresh air, often providing the team with much-needed perspective.
Thoughtful and introspective, Bailey excels at tasks requiring careful deliberation. As it turns out, however, being lost in his thoughts is not a helpful quality during expeditions — the team has accidentally left him behind on more than one occasion.

[TEAM THEO] of [REGIMENT QUICK MATCH] [DESIGNATION TWO]
Team Wonderland has risen through the ranks to be held in esteem among the M.E.G.’s best and brightest. Under Regiment Quick Match, they specialize in extraction: getting in, and getting out, lightning fast. As a result of their fortitude, many of their missions are of a clandestine nature. Members of the public who have had the rare opportunity to witness them in action should consider themselves lucky.
Wonderland also boasts an unparalleled achievement — over their five years of operation, they have never lost a member in the line of duty.
Members:
Here are the profiles of the members of this Team:
M.E.G. Operative - [THEOPHILUS C.]
[Quick Match] Operative: Lieutenant
[NAME]: Theophilus "Theo" M. Carter
Confident, cool, and decisive, Theo is the leader of Team Wonderland. This iron-willed Brit excels even under pressure, and executes missions with ruthless efficiency. As a trained marksman, Theo has impeccable aim with his trusty pistol, which he keeps on him at all times. It stays loaded in his sleep.
Due to his team’s success, Theo can be arrogant and egotistical at times. Thankfully, his second-in-command, Alicia, is always around to keep him in check. And no, they are not dating.
M.E.G. Operative - [ALICIA W.]
[Quick Match] Operative: 2nd Lieutenant
[NAME]: Alicia N. Wondearle
Alicia is second-in-command of Team Wonderland, and specializes in navigation. Her skills include intuitively retracing her steps, and identifying multiple routes to the same destination at barely a glance. These abilities are crucial to Wonderland’s extraction missions, and Alicia claims that they are the result of running around in corn mazes every day as a 'Southern kid'. Since Operative Evan’s departure to Regiment Track Mappers, she has also taken charge of radio communications (though it is a skill she has yet to master).
Alicia can struggle with confidence — if she fails at a task, she may start to blame herself and lose focus. Thankfully, her partner Theo is always there to keep her from spiraling. And yes, they are totally dating.
M.E.G. Operative - [JOSHUA O.]
[Quick Match] Operative: 2nd Lieutenant
[NAME]: Joshua "Josh" M. O’hare
Josh is the brawn of Wonderland. Having no-clipped in fresh out of the military, he is one of the M.E.G.’s finest weapons specialists, with in-depth knowledge on the classification, maintenance and operation of firearms. Additionally, his time in the field has given him impressive experience in the use of more eccentric weapons that the Backrooms has to offer. Josh’s formidable size and muscular build also makes him a tough opponent in hand-to-hand combat.
In terms of personality, Josh is a laid-back, carefree individual. As his best friend and confidant, he enjoys third-wheeling Theo’s mess of a relationship with Alicia. He doesn’t know if they’re dating, but he finds the situation fun to watch.
M.E.G. Operative - [DORIAN L.]
[Quick Match] Operative: Ensign
[NAME]: Dorian "Don" Law Shu Xin
Don acts as the team’s supply guardian and reconnaissance specialist. With a keen eye and sharp mind, he is an expert scout and scavenger in the field, acquiring supplies and intel crucial to mission success, which might otherwise go unnoticed. Don never fails to bring in a haul of valuable resources with each mission, and he is single-handedly responsible for procuring the team’s state-of-the-art tactical gear.
While Don’s methodical and thorough work is commendable, it often has the downside of being painfully slow. Sometimes, he’s even left behind while the rest of the team completes the mission. Nobody seems to mind — although when he does eventually catch up, he despises the 'Finding Dory' jokes that ensue.
M.E.G. Operative - [KATHERINE I.]
[Quick Match] Operative: Ensign
[NAME]: Katherine "Kat" C. Ingrid
Katherine is the team’s brilliant medical officer. Though she is not the first, she has carried the legacy of her predecessors faithfully: not one of Wonderland’s members have died under her meticulous care. Kat was formerly a student of a prestigious nursing school, and adapted quickly and excellently to the eccentric demands of medical care in the Backrooms. Her most useful trait is her ability to improvise — this is a crucial quality when medical supplies may be scarce or non-existent out in the field.
In terms of weaknesses, Kat can be high-strung, and may crack under pressure. She may turn irritable and have a tough time focusing in the midst of stressful situations, though her time in Wonderland has definitely toughened her up considerably.
M.E.G. Operative - [CHARLESTON L.]
[Quick Match] Operative: 1st Sergeant
[NAME]: Charleston "Charlie" D. Lewis
Charleston is Wonderland’s newest member, and acts as the team’s brains. Formerly a Research Specialist in Level Keys, Charlie felt restless simply studying distant levels from afar, and joined Wonderland to seek out new discoveries for himself. His background has given him extensive understanding of levels and the means of traversing them — though he has yet to put much of his knowledge to use in the field. Inevitably, he also handles the team’s tedious (but necessary) post-mission paperwork.
Being relatively inexperienced, Charlie has big shoes to fill in matching up to the rest of Wonderland. To that end, his team is committed to supporting him every step of the way.

[TEAM STEPHEN] of [DIVISION DATA COMPUTING] [DESIGNATION TWO]
Though they may not be field operatives, the Beta Bugs are warriors in their own right. With the recent population explosion in Level 11, their job scope has expanded far beyond mere database management — the team now single-handedly manages the day-to-day operations of the M.E.G. Base Beta facility, and the care of its 6,000 permanent residents. This includes administrative scheduling, human resources, tech support, and mountains of paperwork.
Of course, apart from the daily administrative nightmare, the Beta Bugs work closely with the Science Fiction Division, screening and uploading countless reports submitted to the archive. Led by Senior Administrative Officer Stephen Owling, the Beta Bugs deserve recognition for their efforts to keep Base Beta up and running all day, every day.
Members:
Here are the profiles of the members of this Team:
M.E.G. Operative - [STEPHEN O.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Senior Administrative Officer
[NAME]: Stephen Owling
Stephen is the Senior Administrative Officer in charge of the Beta Bugs. With a sharp mind and fast fingers, Stephen helms his team to run Base Beta and its share of the M.E.G. Archives with maximum operational efficiency.
Despite the massive set of responsibilities on his shoulders, Stephen is a rather relaxed figure, described by those who know him as a "really chill dude". To the chagrin of his peers, he tends to be more flexible with the rules than his subordinates, and occasionally even flouts them outright. No one in Base Beta has the authority to stop him, anyway.
M.E.G. Operative - [MARCELLUS F.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Senior Archivist, Chief Researcher
[NAME]: Dr. Marcellus A. Fox
Marcellus (or Dr. Fox, as he prefers) is the Chief Researcher of the M.E.G. Base Beta Facility. A brilliant multi-disciplinarian, his academic credentials include Doctorates in Organic Chemistry, Modern Physics, Medicine, Classical Studies, and Sociology. As the Head of Research, Dr. Fox also personally supervises long-term research operations of the Science Fiction and Trial Testers Divisions — including those hidden from public eyes.
In disposition, Dr. Fox is strict and rather uptight. While he sees Stephen as a trusted friend, his lax attitude towards the rules is a constant source of annoyance.
M.E.G. Operative - [KLAUS M.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Senior Legislative Archivist
[NAME]: Klaus G. Moira
Professional and pragmatic, Klaus is the team’s legal specialist. As a trained lawyer and legal executive, Klaus works closely with the Negotiation Nation Division, overseeing the publication of trade agreements, territorial/property claims, and other convoluted legislative matters.
Klaus’ colleagues aren’t sure if he has a social life. Or a personal life of any kind. For all they know, the smiling, picture-perfect professional could be a robot.
M.E.G. Operative - [JANET L.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Senior Secretarial Archivist
[NAME]: Janet Leslie
Janet is essentially your standard suburban mom. After being rescued from Level 5, she decided to offer the M.E.G. her services by doing what she’s done for the last sixteen years — organizing the hell out of everyone’s schedule. Since she joined the Beta Bugs, the team has wondered how they ever survived without her.
Janet still misses her two children, Monica and James. She texts them occasionally, hoping a message will somehow get through one day. In their place, she essentially sees the younger Archivists as her own kids.
M.E.G. Operative - [ALEKSANDREI I.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Senior Administrative Archivist
[NAME]: Aleksandrei "Alex" Ivanchenkov
Born in Soviet Ukraine, Alex has Doctorates in Nuclear Physics and Biology, as well as a name that nobody else knows how to spell. Some say that he was once a Soviet Weapons Researcher during the Cold War, though he dismisses this as “crazy American talk”.
Regardless of his background, Alex performs a crucial role — delegation. Under his oversight, a large number of senior operatives (known informally as 'Base Leaders') compile reports from lower-level Operatives, referring only the more difficult cases to the Beta Bugs Archivists directly.
M.E.G. Operative - [LAKE K.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Administrative Archivist, Entity Research Specialist
[NAME]: Lake T. Kesler
Lake is a gifted, up-and-coming Archivist, and Stephen’s personal protégé. As an expert in entity research, he works with Stephen, Compass Point, and frontline field Operatives to collect data on the bizarre beasts lurking at the frontiers of exploration.
Lake also works with Klaus to oversee recruitment, and to publish and enforce the official Facility regulations. He acts as a ‘landlord’ of sorts, defining what is (or more accurately, what isn’t) allowed for personnel living and working in the confines of Base Beta. With the unending stream of residency applications, noise complaints, and damage reports flooding in on a constant basis, it’s a wonder that the job hasn’t driven him crazy. Threatening to quit every other day seems to be his coping mechanism.
M.E.G. Operative - [JULIAN L.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Archivist, Researcher
[NAME]: Julian Lee Zheng Hua
Formerly a Science Fiction Division Researcher, Julian joined the Beta Bugs team when he realized he preferred reading and writing the research reports to conducting the research itself. Julian has proven to be exceptionally talented at quality control. In quality-checking pages on the Database, his sharp mind catches serious hidden mistakes which even Senior Archivists are likely to overlook. Julian has even been entrusted with a sacred gift: the ability to bestow Greenlight privileges to worthy research personnel.
Julian is also Dr. Fox’s protégé, working closely with staff of the Trial Testers and Science Fiction Divisions in projects requiring intense, long-term research.
M.E.G. Operative - [CARLOS H.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Archivist, Infocommunications Specialist
[NAME]: Carlos "Carl" H. Mendoza
With a Degree in Computer Science and several years in the game design industry, Carl has become the team’s expert in the dynamics of Backrooms Levels — according to him, Physics in the Backrooms operates “a lot like the original Mario games”.
Apart from regular archival duties, Carlos oversees the cyber-security of Base Beta’s server databanks, which store a large portion of the information on the M.E.G.’s Archive. To that end, he also manages the Facelings who act as the Base’s server maintenance crew. He doesn’t understand how they can troubleshoot without eyes to look at a computer screen, but they seem to get the job done.
M.E.G. Operative - [ELEANOR W.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Junior Legislative Archivist
[NAME]: Eleanor "Ellie" Wright
Eleanor is a junior archivist, and one of the newer members of the Beta Bugs. Despite being only nineteen, Ellie has proven herself to be quite a prodigy. She appears to have an eidetic memory, greatly aiding the study and application of legal concepts required in her line of work. As Klaus’ assistant and protégé, she works closely with the Negotiation Nation Division to clarify territorial claims and draft trade agreements with the various Groups of Interest occupying Level 11.
M.E.G. Operative - [HAIRUL M.]
[Data Computing] Operative: Junior Financial Archivist
[NAME]: Hairul "Harry" Binte Mohammad
Hairul is a junior archivist, and one of the newer members of the Beta Bugs. He is Janet’s assistant (though she’s really more like his mom at this point). He is responsible for Base Beta’s budget and accounting logs, working closely with Division Postal Delivery to manage the facility’s skyrocketing expenditures.
