Info
I usually don't do something this "Spooky" but honestly, it takes a while for me to come up with this stuff. However, I wanted to go back to my roots, I originally wanted to be an Entity-only designer since I saw a lack of entity species compared to levels.
Oh and uh, go check out my author page, noah rabe if you have the time.

M.E.G. Meeting Recording
Begin Log
{Audio begins with the sound of a door creaking open. Rapid, uneven footsteps approach. A chair scrapes against the floor.}
Walter:
Sorry… Sorry. I was in a rush—panicked, really.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
Welcome, Walter. Usually, I prefer to ease into these things, especially when they involve traumatic experiences. But given the urgency of your message, I’d like to start right away—if that’s okay.
Walter:
Yeah. That's fine. I appreciate you seeing me.
{Chair creaks as Walter sits.}
Improvement ends
M.E.G. Agent Will:
I apologize for how long it all took. With how vague you were and how many requests we got, it took a while for it to go down the process.
Also, I just want to check, are you sick? Your face is incredibly pale.
Walter:
Thanks for your concern, but I think I'm fine; I'll probably go get checked out after this, though.
Also, it's okay. I don't mind, as long as what I have to say gets out there. This thing needs to go extinct or something; it's a danger to everyone.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will notes something down.}
Well, I won’t hold you for too long, then. Please make sure to go get checked out after this. Now, what can you recall regarding the confrontation between you and the entity? I will be taking notes and uploading this information to the database afterward.
Walter:
Thank you for this opportunity.
You can't imagine how much this means to me.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will smiles and puts his hand on Walter's shoulder.}
Of course, Walter, this means as much to us as it does to you. Let's start with the first encounter. Where did that start?
Walter:
On Level 8, but you should know I wasn't alone when the entity was discovered.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will looks up from his notebook.}
Who else was there with you?
Walter:
{Walter looks down to the floor.}
They were a very close friend of mine. Marie, and man was she caring, beautiful, and especially confident—too confident sometimes.
I wish things happened differently…
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will frowns while patting Walter on the shoulder.}
Oh, I apologize. You have my condolences. After this, I recommend you visit our therapy center. I'll write you a referral.
Walter:
It's weird; I've never explored Level 8 before. I know it's one of the earliest levels to go through, but I was always too scared to explore the place. Well, that was until my 31st birthday recently.
Marie suggested we go somewhere that I had never been before.
I tried lying by telling her I had been to all of the early levels, but she saw through the façade.
When she recommended Level 8, I was reasonably nervous and tried to talk her out of it. But it was too late. Her mind was made up on where we should go, and that was all there was to it.
Of course, she was skeptical that we'd find too much danger. Bless her heart.
First impressions weren't very good, if I'm being honest. It was a damp, dark cave, and I'm not sure how that would be good in any way.
I guess that's not as important as what happened inside, though.
{Walter sighs.}
You see, as we were walking around, looking at your guy's map to find our way around, we kind of got lost. Back home, we got lost when using maps all the time. Man, what an invention GPSs were.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will interrupts.}
Question: Do you have a general idea of where you were? Otherwise, it might be a little hard to pinpoint this creature's territory.
Walter:
Oh, uh, no idea… It's probably everywhere. Sorry for not being able to remember.
{Walter furrows his brows and frowns.}
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will smiles caringly at Walter.}
You're quite alright. This is usually one of the few times people have the ability to talk about these things with other people. But please, do go on.
Walter:
Thank you…
Anyway, I remember her just kind of running off, and I decided to chase after her. I warned her that it wasn't a very good idea, but she just wouldn't listen to me. It's like I said before, her confidence often got the better of her.
I guess it's good we didn't come into contact with any entities other than… well, you know.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
On Level 8? The level with one of the highest entity populations? That's certainly odd.
{Will writes something down.}
Walter:
Uhh… What? It does? I wasn't aware, sorry.
Maybe it was its home or something?
I- I'm not sure if I'm being honest here.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
Hmm… that's what I'll log in the "needing to research" tab here 'til we can get more answers. If I had to guess, it has a nest or something like you said.
But please, continue.
Walter:
I don't exactly remember if I called this out to Marie or not, but I at least remember noticing. This all happened so fast since we were running, so there may be details I can't recall.
At one point, I recall she tripped on something. I ran back to get her, and as I was helping her up, I heard some sort of sloshing. I got my flashlight out to see what it was.
{Walter stared into the Will's eyes with wide, open eyes.}
It was this weird sack of… skin, surrounded by chunks of flesh, blood, and pus. It was so mangled that we couldn't even tell what it was supposed to look like.
That was when we heard another sound coming from the blob. It was a high-pitched screech of some kind mixed in with something squirming around, I think.
It only took a second before something burst from the fleshy chunk.
{Walter pauses for a moment, twiddling his thumbs while tapping his feet loudly.}
It was small at the time and looked like some sort of dark-brown grub that could do nothing but squirm there. I felt like puking just staring at it.
The only real difference from a grub, from what I could tell at the time, was its teeth. Instead of pincers, it had sharp canine teeth.
{Walter stops for a moment, shivering.}
M.E.G. Agent Will:
It's ok, Walter. Take your time to process. This did happen quite recently, so please don't rush.
Walter:
{Walter takes a deep breath.}
Yeah, before it came back. I wish I had finished the job, but it's too late for that.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
I see. I'm assuming you didn't terminate the entity at the time.
Walter:
No… I kicked the fucker back into the darkness before we went our merry way, though.
A lot of what happened after that was wandering on Level 8. At the time, I was kind of hoping that we would just no-clip out at some point, but it never happened. Eventually, we gave up and decided to set up camp at a random point within the cave.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
I'm sorry to interrupt, but why would you set camp on Level 8?
Walter:
We decided to sleep in shifts so neither of us would get attacked by entities. Though I wasn't all too worried since I hadn't seen anything, aside from… that thing.
I really regret not keeping a closer eye on her.
First was my shift, which I didn't take very seriously. I goofed off nearly the entire time, and that resulted in me being very blindsighted when I saw the entity the second time.
{Walter looks down at the edge of the table.}
M.E.G. Agent Will:
It came back? Was it following you?
Walter:
Not that I noticed; that's the weird thing. It could have just been another one, but at the time, it felt like some ravenous animal was hunting its prey in the dark.
I'm not sure if it was, but what does it matter when—
{Walter frowns as a tear falls onto his cheek, continuing with a somber voice}
Sorry for crying…
{Walter wipes the tear away and smiles.}
I remember that I heard it bite into something—flesh.
I went for my phone hurriedly, but it was too late. I could see pools of blood on the floor next to her. I don't know how she even survived losing that much blood.
I tried waking her up. Honestly, I shouldn't have gotten too excited that she woke up. I don't know how I didn't notice it at the time, but she had a big bump on her back.
I don't know—what I do know is that it ended up being the biggest mistake of my life.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Walter:
It's not your fault; it's mine.
If I had paid more attention to the signs, I would have known she wasn't okay, and she wouldn't have died.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{The Will smiles and starts speaking in a more sincere tone.}
It's not your fault… Trust me, it isn't.
You were certain she was okay and were still worried for her. There's no reason you should blame yourself for this; after this, please take the time to sign up for therapy on our forums. You don't have to go through her death alone.
{Will smiles and reaches over the table to pat Walter on the shoulder for a second while Walter sobs.}
Walter:
{Walter speaks through the sobbing, visibly shaking}
…
Thank you…
{Walter starts to wipe away his tears before deeply breathing.}
M.E.G. Agent Will:
You don't need to continue if you're uncomfortable.
Walter:
{Walter continues his deep breaths approximately ten more times before finally starting to calm down a little bit.}
N-no, I need to do this. For those out there who may be surprised when they see it…
M.E.G. Agent Will:
Well, if you say so, by all means, please continue. Just… please tell me if you need medical staff.
Walter:
Thank you… and I will.
When I woke up next to her, I saw her incredibly malnourished.
This is also when I noticed the bump on her back. I knew something was very wrong when she seemed not to notice it at all. It was so much larger than before—far too large to be a cist.
I remember what she said too. "I'm fine; what are you talking about?" She didn't even know how much danger she was in. I told her we needed to get out immediately to get her checked out.
Despite all my best attempts, she brushed all that I said off. However, I very much insisted we get out, and with some time, she obliged.
I told her to wait for a second before running a little bit away to yell out for someone. It was stupid, I know, but you have to understand that once she was that hurt, I no longer cared about what happened to me. She was all I had since being here in this fucking hellhole.
Nobody ended up coming.
By the time I got back, I could only see the result of my actions. Despite my futile efforts,.
{Walter pauses for a moment as small tears drizzle down from his now red eyes.}
Sh-she looked so—
Mangled and flat…
{Walter breaks into tears and looks at the table, shaking uncontrollably.}
I— I'm sorry, I can't. but—
I have to; I owe it to her.
She had a flat body, like there were no bones in her body at all.
{Will calls in the standby medical team, so watch by when noticing the now-pale skin of Walter.}
I'm sorry. I—I just couldn't help it. It's like just thinking about it caused an outburst.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
It's ok… You're safe now. I think you need to leave the medical room.
Walter:
NO! I have to do this, please—
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will sighs and frowns.}
Fine. Continue—
Walter:
Where was I even? Oh, right; it was when I found the thing.
It was near her. For better or worse, I decided I'd shine my flashlight on the beast—Jesus, was it so disgusting?
It was a lot bigger than I thought it'd be—maybe like thirty feet long, probably bigger, honestly. It was more brown now and had a serpentine body. Oh, and it had a sort of ribcage, but it wasn't a ribcage—it just looked like one. They were like those pincer things you'd see on a bug. It had those all the way up to its mouth, where it had two bigger ones. It also had some sort of exoskeleton, which covered its body almost entirely.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will takes notes.}
Walter:
I decided to throw my flashlight at it, which seemingly did nothing to the monster.
I tried to run, but it quickly caught me with its tail and wrapped itself around me. Its scales felt warm and smooth.
{Walter gags a little.}
I could feel each disgusting, hot breath of air it pushed onto me until it vanished. I still felt a crushing force, but I could no longer feel the scales or its burning, hot breath.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
{Will stops taking notes and looks up at Walter with an eyebrow raised.}
Excuse me, vanished? Hmm—you said that your friend didn't notice the bump on her back, right?
Walter:
Yeah…
M.E.G. Agent Will:
It's possible this thing has the ability to somehow make its body and physical properties invisible to its prey.
Walter:
I guess… yeah that's possible.
I was lucky someone noticed me. I don't know who it was, but I got really lucky. I remember him yelling, "Hello? Is anyone there?"
He was a hero in some sense. He saved me from a fate that I couldn't do anything to fight. I mean, what could I have done to really make the situation better for myself? Fight it? I'd just get in the way. As the guy got closer, I felt myself being able to move again—gradually, as if it were loosening its grip on me.
The last time I heard him was, "Holy shit, what is that?" I then fell onto the floor and saw the creature again, moving towards the other person.
Scared, I decided to do the only thing I could: book it. I ran faster than I had ever run before, until I fell through the floor.
I don't know what happened to him; I hope he didn't die.
Anyway, ever since then, I have promised to never go back to Level 8 until I see that entity and species go extinct.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
I see. Do you think that might've been the only one? I mean, as of now, this is the only instance of one being seen.
Walter:
Honestly, if I had to guess, I'd say it's probably more of a species. If it was that small and grew that fast, then it leaves me wondering: What kind of thing is it? Like an insect?
M.E.G. Agent Will:
Likely a parasite of some sort. Though I find something interesting and a little concerning—
Walter:
What's that?
M.E.G. Agent Will:
Well, you said that there were no entities at the site of the incident. But Level 8 is infested with entities. This means that either you were in this creature's territory or, through some means, it's able to keep every danger out of its home.
Until we have a more clear understanding of this creature, please stay out of Level 8.
Walter:
I wasn't planning on going back anyway.
M.E.G. Agent Will:
Well, that should be it, then. Thank you for coming in.
{Will notices a rapidly expanding bump on Walter's neck.}
The medical staff should be in here shortly since, at this point, we should probably get you checked up as soon as possible.
[[>]]
Walter:
{Walter pauses for a moment, shaking. Then, the bump expands rapidly before bursting, sending an Entity 500 specimen flying. Blood flies all over, covering the screen, while Will yells for backup.}
