Level -9 is an enigmatic level of the Backrooms, and is thought to be the 10th negative level of the Backrooms.
Description:
Photograph of Level -9. This is speculated to be one of the oldest photographs taken in the Backrooms, since it dates all the way back to 1929.
Level -9 appears to be an old, abandoned crawl space. Bricks in Level -9 appear to be red, the ceiling appears to be gray, and the floor appears to be brown dirt. The floor of Level -9 is also said to feel like concrete, despite it being dirt. Chairs and ladders can also be found scattered in Level -9. Despite the colors being able to be described, this can only be done via photographs, as similarly to TH3 SH4DY GR3Y and Level 71, Level -9 is completely black and white, or grayscale.
Any portable light source in Level -9, such as flashlights, will be blindingly bright while one is in Level -9. Due to this, when using a flashlight in Level -9, one is highly discouraged from looking right at the light. Doing so will result in one’s eyes burning, before their entire body catches on fire, burning them to death. Weirdly, even after their death, they will still be alive.

Entrances
Following the "0, 1, 7, 9, 5, 4, 9, 7, 4, 2, 6, 5, 7, 2, 0, 1, 8, 3" route in Level -8 is a guaranteed entryway to Level -9. Level -9 can also be entered by falling off of a fecal strip in Level 226.
Exits
There is currently no known way to exit Level -9 other than no-clipping, which will always transport the wanderer to Level -10.
