If you ever decide to head to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, you may encounter a hobby shop home to an RC car raceway. The building is unfortunately showing its age, suffering from water leaks on the upper floor. The track upstairs (nicknamed the "Oval Room") attracts hobbyists of all ages, fostering a sense of companionship and competition among participants. The store often hosts racing events, making it a beloved hub for both residents and visitors alike. While popular in niche hobby groups, it's rather unassuming to most people passing by.

From the 1950s to the 1990s, it was home to a popular local furniture store. While successful, it was eventually closed and leased out in 1994, with its former owner claiming the building was "more suited for smaller businesses". In recent years, the location has been shrouded in urban legends, with the most popular claim being that it contains an entrance to another reality, supported by substantial evidence.

Doc. 1 - "Workers' Confession."

Hi, I'm Paxton, and I think I created the backrooms.

Everything started in 2003 when my group was assigned to renovate the building at 807 Oregon Street. I didn’t expect anything special, but when we entered the location, we found ourselves in a place that looked like something out of this world.

My father once talked with me about these places called Liminal Spaces. He was supposed to be once a part of a group that was directly studying them. Father rarely talked about that, but what I heard from him stayed in me forever. This place gives off exactly the same feeling he described to me.

I warned my team about that, but they treated that as a joke. "What the fuck even is a liminal space?" they said. This deeply infuriated me. I deeply believe in my father's stories and felt outraged. So I started noting every single thing that I found anomalous during our time at the building. I didn’t want to end up looking like an idiot, but now that I think about it, I looked way more idiotic.

Possible anomalies I managed to note the following:

- Thomas's coffee cup moved a few centimetres away by itself.
- One of the ceiling tiles fell off suddenly without being pushed or anything.
- The wallpaper didn’t want to be scraped from one of the walls.
