Simone turned off her phone and quickly put it in her pocket.
As an Elder approached her cell, he spoke in a strange, unknown voice that she only vaguely understood. She peered through the bars of her home to see her captor. The door unlocked without the Elder lifting a talon. She slowly rose. Her entire being ached, and she groaned as she stood.
She and the Elder slowly traversed the pitch-black realm, the dark sky swirling above them, yet remaining stagnant. The arcane locks caused the sky to leave, a reminder of what the Sky did to them. They made their way to a room containing a door unattached to the walls.
The Elder tells her to wait here, yet again in its strange voice. The Elder quickly left the room, and the lock closed behind it.
She focused her attention on the door; it was aged and was missing a handle, despite being on hinges. Dust and grime covered the small-framed window on the door. She wasn't entirely sure if it was a window, as she couldn't see the other side of the room through it. The door creaked open slowly, and it revealed a different small room containing a young male. It was him.
She called out to the other room, trying to see if he was there or an illusion. He seemed alive and looked up from the stained concrete floor. She slowly crossed the threshold between their rooms, and the figure suddenly vanished from the other room. She backed up, trying to return to her room, but the doorway had also disappeared. She had well realized her mistake, and the Elders would be sure she wouldn't forget it.
